Too close to the highway, still can hear the highway noise and it s busy. Just more crowded than other spot

This small stretch of golden sandy beach includes a marked swimming area, a few acres of grass for picnic'ing, room for about 40 cars to park and a beautiful view of Lake of Two Rivers.To the west you can see the Kilarney Lodge (which may be found here on Tripadvisor). While this is a beautiful place, the magic comes after the sun goes down.This is my go-to spot for viewing a clear, dark night sky. With only the faint, distant light of Huntsville in the distance, the Milky Way screams across the sky from north to south and is a wonder to behold. You cannot get this view at your roadside motel, and will be tougher at your park campsite due to the light of campfires. Here though, it is fantastic. The area is closed after 10pm but I have to add that the sky wasn't truly dark until well after 10, closer to 11pm. At about that time I was getting some great photos (see attached) when a park warden arrived. He checked my car to ensure I had a pass for the park and when I met him in the parking lot, I told him I was there to photograph the night sky. He was very friendly and I invited him down to the water to join me which he accepted. We chatted for a while and showed him my photos and he complimented me on my work.Very good experience and I can't wait to return again.
