We've enjoyed Algonquin Park in all seasons but my favourite season is Winter. We've been x-country skiing for many years on the well-groomed trails in Algonquin Park & stayed at local accomodations in Whitney for a few years. But our love for x-country skiing in Algonquin Park influenced our cottage-buying decision -- winterized for us, a few miles down the road in the Barry's Bay area.This past weekend we had a "Last Hurrah" get-together in our cottage for one of the six of us. It of course, included great company, fine wine, wonderful meals & activity. Naturally, we went to Algonquin Park & enjoyed the beauty of the park, the winter wonderland, scenery so beautiful it looks almost unreal. The air is crisp, the snow white, tracks well-set, "Dee's Cabin" warm & toasty. The chickadees flitted about & entertained me -- so fitting at "Dee's Cabin". If you are a x-country skier or a person willing to try x-country -- visit Algonquin Park -- nature at its best.

We rode through here on a motorcycle and it is probably my favorite ride to date! The park is just beautiful and we saw 5 moose along the way! I wish we had planned to spend more time exploring/camping/canoeing because after looking at the map there seems like there is plenty to see. I also saw something about wolf howling expeditions at the visitors center, you bet I will be returning someday to participate in that awesomeness!

Went x-country skiing at leaf lake on the east side of the park. We did the pine tree loop. The park maps suggest it is an expert loop. Although it wasn't easy, it wasn't extremely difficult either. We started at 10am, took our time and were back at the parking lot by 2pm. The trails were well groomed and wide. The hills were a fair size, some nice drops but nothing too extreme. If you can snow plow you can easily navigate them. The cabins were warm, we stopped for lunch and met several other skiers. Going in I was concerned about the potential difficulty since we are not expert skiers. We ski but aren't experts by any means. It isn't as hard as might be implied on some other reviews. You would want to have some experience with hills but we brought our 8 year old child and he made out alright. The only time I might avoid this loop is during very icy conditions.

Loved our time in Algonquin, this part is even nicer than Lake of two rivers which is too close to the highway. Site are big and it s quiet at night, loved the trails and we kayaked quite a bit beautiful nature all around. Rock lake will be a place we return to for sure!

one of the best places for camping, portaging, and just nature hiking. Untouched and conserved wild life, alot too see, just make sure you have some sort of bug repellent also DONT THROW YOUR GARBAGE IN THE FORESTS, YOU ARE DISTURBING NATURE!

We stayed four days and it wasn't enough. Hiking into wilderness areas with trying to see the Moose in the forest and camping is just unbelievable. The colours in the forest are magical and the scenery is out of this world. There are a number of different viewpoints and each of them is very impressive.

Algonquin is a very large park, so many different ares to explore. Choose one of the shorter tails as I was taking my new puppy. Was beautiful! We were staying at Adventure Lodge and they gave us a pass to use for the day, which was nice. It rained a little but we waited it out in the car. Wise to take a wind breaker for such cases :)I will return to this park for more adventures this summer! I want to camp there next!

The Algonquin Provincial Park is perfect to discover the wilderness that is not too far from civilization. It feels very remote. It is very quiet and beautiful. Perfect to enjoy the many lakes and the forest. You even get to see Black bears like we did, and you might get to hear wolves, which we didn't. Nice, very remote camp sites with no modern devices, great canoe tours possible. Even for young kids a great adventure!

It's a great park for camping and canoeing. wild life watching. hiking and swimming. nice drive from toronto.

We drove to Algonquin Park from Huntsville, and it was around 40min. The main road that passes through the park is about 56Km from the west end of the park to the east end. You are required to buy a park pass if you plan on using any of the parking facilities. We however went in winter and many trails were closed due to either flooding or just closed for the season. However, the views are amazing!! So beautiful and stunning. The snow on the ground and the frozen lakes with the pine trees just make a picture perfect scenery. Getting a map from the information center is super helpful when driving through the park.On another note, the highway is busy and there are vehicles (including 18 wheelers) coming down at highspeeds so be extra careful when slowing down or stopping by the side of the road or even turning around (U turns or 3 point turns) on the highway!

We drove through the Algonquin Park to enjoy the lovely colours of fall season. A must to enjoy the beauty that Canada has to offer!

Its a beautiful park.Even at the end autumn ,the colors were still there and the walks in the swamp, and other trails(some close early in the season) are interesting insights into the local biosphere that this park really is. Its really a great park to picnic and trek.Some of the views from vantage points really show a glimpse into the primary forest scape that must have covered the entire region 200 years ago , before serious logging started. The visitor center is nice and informative and don't miss the 15 min movie.All in all a great drive through.

We drove through Algonquin Park on our way from country Ontario to Ottawa. Beautiful countryside but unfortunately no moose

There is no place I'd rather be in the summer than canoe tripping in Algonquin Park. When I die my ashes will be spread here. Noonway.
