amherst farmers market

I always book my flights to include a Friday so I can make a trip to the Amherst Farmers Market! It's a refreshing step back in time - venders sell dulse, seafood, maple products, traditional East Coast home baking (fudge, chocolate cake with boiled icing, local berry & apple pies, brown bread with molasses), NS tartan arts & crafts, etc. Friendly & wonderful shopping, especially in the fall when the outside of the building has tables loaded with farmers fresh blueberries, corn, apples, carrots, potatoes, etc. A real treat!

Vendors from the area have their crafts and yummy treats for sale. Family friendly and clean bathroom. Homemade marmalade, preserves, wonderful dog treats, warm woolens, and delicious chocolates. There is also lots of prepared food so come hungry... the best middle eastern spinach pie I have tasted in a long time. Fridays 10-2.
