shinimicas provincial park

Located about 20 minutes from Amherst on the way to Pugwash, this little park is a hidden gem. There's so much grass to run, play ball or frisbee. Lots of trees for shade and enough well-placed picnic tables, many with a view of the Shinimicas river. Our dogs love it there because they can swim and chase sticks to their hearts' content, and we let them off leash because we are normally the only people at the park. There are washrooms and running water--but nothing else. So pack your own picnic and enjoy some peace and quiet.
