I have fond memories going tonthe cape as a child. A great, if rugged place for a picnic. We clambered all about the rocks. I suppose now parents might be too nervous to let children do so. Wild, rugged, fantastic rocks and crashing waves - it is a wonderful place.

The lighthouse is a wonder unto itself, with the position high atop the rocks, but with the trail now completed down front, this is one of the nicest spots to tour to see the ocean and the boats working. The place is now a top tourist attraction, and best of all, completely free!

i think this is one of the best lighthouses in the province. I like it better than Peggy's Cove. Lovely place to eat lunch or just have a cup of tea. Nice little gift shop, not to expensive. Great place to take photos. Rugged coast they offer rides to the top for those with walking problems. This place is a must see! If your visiting Yarmouth. Plus parking is available, also a great drive to the Cape.

We took a lovely drive to the lighthouse, everything was closed at the station, but we enjoyed the beautiful view, took lots of pictures, loved the big chair and my husband and I both took each other's pictures sitting in it.

We went and sought out Cape Forchu, which is a bit of a drive from downtown Yarmouth, and were very glad we did. The attractions were all closed, but that was fine since we were there to see the sunset, which is not to be missed! Lovely lighthouse, grounds and tide pool.

This is a very nice place to visit. The view is magnificent. The big chair is a joy to sit in. It is only a short drive to see it.

During our recent trip to Yarmouth, we drove to see the lighthouse in the evening after we arrived at the B&B and we were so glad we did!! The view from the top at the lighhouse is stunning and the sunset is breathtaking!!! Bring your camera and stay for a while and enjoy!

The lighthouse at Cape Forchu is the most unique one we visited and photographed on our journey up through the eastern most U.S., New Brunswick and the South Shore of Nova Scotia. The free small museum inside the original 2 family house has fun and informative artifacts about earlier life at Cape Forchu. However, it is only open in the early summer through September. They have the Tea Room café, if you are wanting a meal with a fabulous view. Take time to stroll along the paths below the lighthouse and walk along the rocky shore. It was very peaceful and a nice place to take pictures. NOTE: Sit in the HUGE beach chair down below the lighthouse and take your picture and wave to all the people watching the webcast.

Beautiful drive from Yarmouth to the stunning views at the harbour. Good parking area with well kept trails and one can even picnic. We watched the ferries leaving to the US. In our opinion, Cape Forchu is more scenic than Peggy's Cove. Informative museum depicting the lighthouse history and its keepers. The lobster sandwich was fantastic in the Tea Room cafe. So enjoyable!

I love the peace and quiet of this lighthouse. The smell of the salt air, the view of the Yarmouth Harbor and the chairs they have so thoughtfully placed around the location so we can sit and enjoy the view. I feel, in my opinion. this is more scenic than Peggy's Cove.

The view from here is breathtaking. If you have any walking problems it may be a struggle to walk to the top where you can have lunch. We ate lunch at "The Mug It Up Café". Food was excellent and the waitress was outstanding.

Beautiful setting on the tip of the Yarmouth harbor. Be sure and take the trail past the light house out to the point.

This was September and a lot of places were closing. We were able to walk around the lighthouse area but the buildings were closed.

Its a very attractive drive out to the lighthouse but there isn't much when you get there. But then there isn't much else to do in yarmouth.

Located about 7 miles from Yarmouth the drive is as varied as it was spectacular. It started with a tree lined street, then through a fishing village before crossing a narrow spit of land to reach the lighthouse.Although we experienced a foggy/low cloud day, it was definitely worth the visit. The lighthouse has ample parking and a well maintained garden at the front. Numerous information boards are located around the grounds, which provide information on the lighthouse history. The museum and tea room were also closed. We enjoyed a stroll along the path below the lighthouse to the park on the headland.
