Abbotsford has an amazing trail system linking various parts of the city where you can walk safely on well maintained pathways. I didn't have time to do the entire trail system but the two sections that I used (Gladwin to Maclure & Whatcom to McKee) were in good condition and everyone I met was cheerful and friendly.
There's so much room for improvements in that neglected park it's not funny anymore and seeing the Nazi symbol carved on trees is not exactly welcoming either.
Nice relaxing walk through the park. Didn't see much wildlife ,just ducks in the pond. Great walk to clear the head.
The paved paths and trails in the forests go a long ways so you can begin just about anywhere in Abbotsford. They are maintained on a regular basis. You can walk, bike ride, rollerblade, etc.
We have walked part of the Discovery Trail in Abbotsford. It is a wonderfully planned trail through very interesting parts of the city. One would not expect such an excellent trail through a city... the trail takes you through some nice valleys and past several creeks.
We only get to do one end of it regularly, but it goes from one end of the city to the other. There are shady areas, ponds, creeks and even hills to climb. I believe all is now paved.
Less of a nature trail and more of an open air bike way. I miss the shrubbery and nature allot of these parks had before the trail was made. And why don't they connect to Mill Lake?
Trail is well marked and layed out, ups and downs in trail is good for a workout, fresh air nice. walk this trail almost every day
There are so many places you can get on the trail, and I would suggest heading towards Langley or Fort Langley. The Langley portions are maintained by Metro Parks and are very well maintained. Love it.
This is a great trail to walk, jog, bike or just go for a stroll with your baby in a stroller. We started at what we thought was the beginning at Valley Road, just off of highway 11 in Abbotsford, BC. The entrance to the paved trail was a bit hidden by bushes but it is on the left side just after you cross the tracks. There isn't a parking lot but there is space for a few vehicles along the side of the road. Obviously this isn't the main entrance to the trail. It is paved for almost the whole 30+ km and there are several hills, the first one shortly after you start at Valley Road is long and high, but the view at the top is worth it. There are many places to stop and rest. We found washrooms at the Exhibition Park off Haida Dr.
