2nd visit to Vancouver. My friend said next time you are over I'll take you to a little park not far from where I live. I love to move away from all the tourist attractions & find out where the locals go & what they like to do. Loved this park, so close to homes, major roads, & shops but you would never know it. Great bike tracks, beautiful walking trails, yummy huckleberries, loved the cool & quietness of the park. Just a lovely place to be taken to away from the hustle & bustle of the city. Would love to walk through here again, just too far right now! At least I have the photos of this lovely memory.
I would not feel bored even if I visit there every day. The air is always so fresh. Many activities are held in the park all the time such as biking and/or racing, dogs walking, jogging or hiking, etc. The fresh water is an attraction as well. Picnic is good there due to so many trees to keep you cool with the breeze....You would feel in heaven.
This is a great little park that slopes south from 64th ave to hwy 10, and is pretty easy to traverse, but I recommend staying on the main trails, as there are a bunch of mountain biking trails that weave throughout the park, and the cyclists can be aggressively barreling though!
Watershed Park is a large park close to everything. Situated just west of Scott Rd(120 St) and south of 64 Ave.There are many trails within the park and an area for dare-devil bikers...with jumps and bike trails. Also in this park, are several hidden caches, for all the geocachers like myself, out there.
My son visits the watershed regularly to bike through the trails. I enjoy walking in here, it's nice and quiet... you can't even tell you are in the city
The Watershed Park can be access from North Delta on two sides - off Hwy 10 and off 72nd Ave. There is an easy flat trail that cuts across the park that is used by folks out for a cycle, dog walkers, horse riders etc. Other trails are cut into the natural hill and make for a more challenging hike or good for mountain biking. There is a flat open area for a little football or Frisbee playing. There is an incredible lushness about the park - rich earth, green and fresh. We are fortunate to live very close by and take advantage of this peaceful space often. Lots of eagles like to hang around in this park as well. The Watershed is a protected reserve surrounded by "second growth coniferous forest, Watershed Park is Delta's largest park, which is situated on a large artesian water supply
Watershed park is a great place to run or walk with family and pets. Located on a bluff with several steep ravines there are plenty of challenging trails for mountain biking. The many trail options allow you to make your walk or run as challenging as you like. Many raptors visit the park as well.
