You can't beat the views anywhere along the Rivers Trail, it can be the most relaxing and rewarding ride/walk anywhere in Kamloops. I have walked most of it & rode my bike around all of it, how refreshing. Take your time & enjoy everything this trail and the city has to offer.
Head out North or go West. Rivers trail is a well marked route for cycling or walking that tours along the river and through nice neighborhoods.
We enjoyed our walk along the river on this trail which had easy access from downtown. The views were nice and we felt safe.
Lovely walk along the river, just what was needed after a day on the Rocky Mountaineer. Thoroughly recommended for a late afternoon early evening stroll.
This park I find really highlights what makes Kamloops so beautiful. The trail is well kept and hugs close to the River and make sure to check out the Rose garden.I wasn't here during the summer festivals, however there was still some beautiful roses left to take pictures of. My only recommendation is that some of the exhibits throughout the park was missing signage. So not knowing the significance of what I was looking at was a bit of a pain. But that's pretty minor.Overall great place to visit while in Kamloops.
Whether swimming at the beaches, or entertaining kids at the water park this is a great place. Bring a picnic or go play tennis. This place has something for everyone. Stroll, bike, Rollerblade or skate board. Spend an afternoon or just an hour. The trails are great for young and old alike. Free parking in summer months is available.
My wife does not like to ride the hills...so I figured we wouldn't do much riding in Kamloops, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the trail. Flat, reasonably well marked and wife approved. We rode a 30 km circuit through MacArthur Park, Riverside Park (during ribfest, I might add) and Pioneer Park. Kamloops has done a nice job of showcasing their riverfront with this trail. I'll bring my bike again for sure.
Exactly what anyone would like to see when they are needign a good stretch, clean, beautiful scenery, and its not far at all!
Flat scenic trail right by the river. Gotta do it. People being their dogs to fetch balls in the river. Great easy walk and also very accessible for any type of handicaps.
I use the Rivers Trail 3 times a week as I am an avid runner. It is great that Kamloops has this wonderful trail system that is safe for walkers, runners and bikers. I appreciate the kilometer markers that are along the trail to keep track of how far I have gone!!
The Rivers Trail allows you to walk along the banks of the Thompson River. The trail is 85% paved (15% dirt) with wide paths and when I walked it it was very clean with no dog poo in sight. Benches allow a rest with a great view of the river. Informational signs/boards give a history of the area. A relaxing and scenic walk to help you digest a big meal and nirvana with a soft warm or cool breeze from the river to lift your spirits. You can start or end your walk at the Interior Savings Center which is the arena the Kamloops Blazers play in and also hosts many other major sports and music events.
Not too challenging, scenic. Would recommend, even for children. Kamloops is a great place plenty to see and do and is as easy I r challenging as you want it to be
The scenery along the Thompson River is ever-changing, but the pathway itself is reliably smooth for Senior walkers, who may dread a stumble and a fracture....and also for any four-wheeled stroller or chair. From its start at the west end of Riverside Park to the Red Bridge and back is perfect for an easy stroll.
Beautiful place to walk. Lots of nice views of the river. Fairly clean and easy to walk on. There was some traffic but not a lot.Lots of friendly people on the walk. It felt like a safe place to walk.
A extensive, easy biking trail going through the heart of Kamloops. One of the most enjoyable free and scenic activities available. Good family fun that follows the rivers edge.
