Beautiful place at any time of year. I am happy that managers got the extension to continue the great work. They gave a new life to the old mill and surroundings and it is always a pleasure to visit.

Heritage attraction well worth a visit to see a historic grist mill actually working. There are a number of special events and for more information visit their website at www.oldgristmill.ca.

This site deteriorated for a few years but the current managers have don an awesome job of restoration and enhancement. Their cafe has great "heritage" food and they mill their own flour too. The machinery is very interesting and the grounds have lovely mature shade trees. The Mill also hosts a number of concerts and other events during the Spring to Fall season which are well wrth attending if the dates work for you.

This is a lovely place to explore and we made it an over-night stop in their small campground right on the creek. A great convenience for travellers and those wanting to explore the historic buildings and gardens. We were there for the first-ever Heritage Fall Fair. There is a lovely Tea Room, but unfortunately, this was closed because of the food carts offering their goodies at the Fair. We will certainly stop in again for the chance to experience their fresh baking and treats grown from their own gardens. The grounds and buildings are so very interesting with all the live presentations. There is a little, well-stocked gift shop with very nice work from the locals. A very nice place to explore.

Thanks for your review! Just to clarify, the mill has been out of commission for the last few days as we repaired a problem with one of the bearings--that's fixed and now the mill is operational again, with the waterwheel able to move the equipment inside and with tours several times a day to see the inner workings.... working. Other parts of restoration are ongoing, but it's exciting to be able to make flour again and share this amazing historic treasure.

Well worth the visit. We took in one of the milling demonstrations. The guide obviously loves his work. Very knowledgable and passionate about the mill. Gardens are pretty.Nice snack at the tea house. Scone could have been a bit bigger however.

A buddy and I were on a photography safari in the area and stopped by the Grist Mill and Gardens yesterday. Very glad we did. Interesting bit of history to explore, fascinating old technology in the working grist mill, lovely gardens and super friendly team running the place. Although we did not stay for lunch, the smells coming from the kitchen were wonderful. I would definitely go back when I'm next in Keremeos.

On a recent road trip, a group of us stopped at the Grist Mill for a picnic lunch. It is a beautiful, simple and well kept spot. Friendly hosts and lovely gardens. In summer they have outdoor concerts too.It would be a beautiful quiet camping spot if you are a camper. There is a small fee to picnic here which goes toward the up keep and this is a place we want to see as a sustainable part of the flavour of the Okanagon! In the summer there are plenty of fruit stands around to purchase wonderful fresh produce to add to your picnic basket!A definite stopping place to keep on your road trip itinerary.

My wife and I enjoyed the demonstration of the Grist Mill from the Miller and absolutely loved the deliciously made home made sandwiches, scones and lavender shortbread cookies prepared by Executive Chef, Natasha Schooten. Definitely worth a visit.

The Grist Mill Heritage site is a wonderful place to visit. Have a snack or lunch in the pretty restaurant; let the kids run around the spacious grounds; visit the operating old fashioned grist mill and grind some wheat into flour (the highlight for our 4 year old granddaughter). A brunch is served every Sunday and many special events and concerts are held throughout the year. There are also a few serviced camping sites. The Grist Mill website has details about special events. We highly recommend this scenic and historic attraction for people of all ages.

This is an amazing place to see. They have special fun days where you can learn all about the different apples & fruits that are grown in the Keremeos area. They make their own flour with a giant water wheel system...learn how flour used to be made before the huge factories took over. The gardens are something to see. They have an orchard where they grow different varieties of apples.Taste all the different kinds & pick the ones you love the most. It's worth a visit. There is an admission charge when they have special events but for the most part it's by donation. It's very family friendly. They will answer any questions you have.Call 250-499-2888 for more information.I really enjoyed my time there.

The Grist Mill has been a long time family favourite of ours and we were thrilled that an absolutely delicious lunch is there to be enjoyed again en route to Vancouver. My sister and I stopped in with our parents, who are now in their eighties. My mom, sister, and I bought all the Similkameen honey to take back home. The gift store has interesting items that reflect the region and the gardens are, as always, beautiful and tranquil.

Beautiful gardens, buildings and the tour guide was so informative and enthusiastic !!!! We were on a tour organized by a church group out of Penticton, and brought along a friend who was visiting from Spokane, WA. A great place to spend the afternoon & learn all about Grist Mills !!! The grounds are lovely, the tea room so quaint and the staff was very helpful. We do not live far from this special little place, and will definately be back !!! Be prepared to take lots of Photos !!!!Highly recommended for your "South Okanagan/Similkimeen" valley vacation :)
