October 11th, 2014, day of Cranberry Festival in Langley was an excellent opportunity for who's managing The Wine Fort to organize a shuttle picking visitors from Fort Langley, bringing them on their site, taste some good wine and I can say a little unusual wine for me- i.e. the blackberry one (which is by the way a must in buying it at leaving) and also to see fields of flooded cranberries ready to be harvest. Also the sun was on our side and I recommend to everyone, not only on this specific Saturday, prior to Thanksgiving Day to stop and enjoy and buy real good wine. winerrty

Yesterday we enjoyed a wine tasting for three of their wines at the Fort Wine Company, blueberry, cranberry wine and a cranberry dessert wine. We did not care for the first two but when we tasted the cranberry dessert wine, we enjoyed it and bought a bottle. It was very pricey but thought we would have it for a special occasion. They also had tastings of cranberry & blueberry vinaigrettes, and with the celebration of the Cranberry Festival, they had a singer, Good crowd and many bought several bottles of their wines.

My wife and I visited the Winery as part of our usual motorcycle ride through the Glen Valley backroads on a sunny late-summer afternoon. We tasted about a dozen table and dessert wines, mostly made from local berries. The hostess/server was friendly, helpful, and efficient - especially when a large group of wedding guests stopped by. Our favorites included the blackberry port-style, the apple-pear table wine, and the raspberry dessert wine.

I like this winery. It's out of the way and not a grape product. However, I've been twice and both times it's busy and staff is lacking. I recommend the trip in but suggest you have time as one staff member cannot do it all...and you will wait. Be sure to have the port style... It's great! I'll be back next year.

Our daughters gave us a "Perfect Day" gift for our birthdays and it was a Fort Wine wine tour and tasting with a light lunch and bottle of wine. I have a little background in wine-tasting [probably too much : )] and I did not expect the fruit wines at this winery to be so good - but they were. So - the tour was just the two of us with the vintner, a friendly, knowledgeable young man named Toby. He was great. The wine tasting, served by Kara [also friendly and knowledgeable] was fun and the 5 wines and 4 dessert wines we tasted much better than expected. Each had the distinct fruit flavor of the fruit, yet were not overly sweet. Toby doesn't make "sweet fruit wines" in the tradition you might expect. In fact, I'm betting you will not only like some of them ... you will likely BUY some of them. The Fort Wine store has character and our cheese plate and generous glass of wine [part of the "Perfect Day" promo] were served outside under the arbor beneath a sunny, late summer sky .... You know what I'm going to say ... it was a "perfect day" ... and we both can highly recommend the experience.

We always take visiting friends to the Fort Winery for a tasting and a chance to shop for local wines and products in their littler shop. We love to go during Cranberry Festival too, when you can watch the harvesting process out back

If one goes in the fall when the cranberries are collected, you can watch and also buy a large bag of fresh cranberries cheaper than in a store. The Fort Wine Company has a small ladies luncheon corner inside the store which also includes a small area which displays giftware. Their wines are quite different, but very palatable and lovely as a hostess gift or a treat for oneself. My husband go there at least once a year to check things out and enjoy it every time.

The Fort Winery has a nice tasting room where you can try there wines and would be a must stop when doing a wine tour of the many wineries in the Langley area.

This was very interesting because they had different fruit wines and other gifts made out of their fruit wines. I was with a red hat group and they were very accommodating with tastes and samples of cheese.

We've always had a wonderful time visiting the Fort Wine Company. The staff are friendly. The fruit wine is so good you wouldn't think it packed that much of a wallop. Beware or verily you shall be pickled! :o) Enjoy, I know we did.

Excellent products, I especially love the Raspberry dessert wine. Really yummy with a bottle of Champagne. I buy it when it is available.

Using gift certificate...arrived at reserved time.Started with tasting by lone hostess who was totally distracted by those buying bottles at cash register... Various fruit wines were very different from usual grape offerings and delightful.Cheese plate was acceptable...could use more fresh fruit on platter, other than blueberries.So-called winery tour was very lame... with guide reading from boring script and nothing worth seeing.

We were part of a shopping group that went to 4 previous stops. We were running late and our tour guide phoned the fort twice to update our arrival time. Not once did the employee say that we could not arrive after 6pm-she actually was quite pleasant!. When we arrived all 28 of us -she (the emploee)was very rude! We were suppose to have a wine, cheese and chocolate tasting..She brought the sangria, glasses & cheese out-locked the door to the shop and sped off! The fort wine company that day lost not only revenue from 28 people but also future purchases. This shopping outing was for fun -we had pre-paid for this day a month in advance and we all were quite excited on trying their wines'! I would personally never go out of my way again to try their wines, this place is not a short distance from the freeway ... It's a good 15 min drive from the freeway in the middle of no where!! The Fort Wine company lost out big time!

Toby is apprenticing at this fabulous fruit wine yard. He knew everything and added some info we did not think to ask .Also his sense of humor was appreciated. We ended up buying 12 bottles of wine and 2 vinegars LOLThanks for taking the time with us Toby

Went to this winery for the first time yesterday and was super surprised at this little gem! The blueberry wine is amazing and the apple pear left me wanting more. So we bought 2 of each. Toby who works there gave me some hints on how to make an amazing sangria using their blueberry wine and their Cold Snap wine. So I had to buy one of those too! Definitely will be back. Especially on a sunny warm day for a glass of that sangria! Great winery great staff :)
