Very beautiful trail . One of the best hidden trails in the lower mainland . Enter from Cliff Falls or 256th . Great views and well maintained for runners and kids.
Any time you're by the water on a sunny day is good.I wish they'd extend the trail though. It should be pushed through to the Billy Miner now the the log sort is gone.
Lovely walk along Kanaka Creek, and out to the river. Lots of local birds, seals and other animals to catch a glimpse of. Shady trails on a hot summer day are great.
Located just across the railway, it has ample parking. The trail is level, is well maintained and well marked. It runs along Kanaka Creek and then out to and along the Fraser River. It is quiet and rarely busy.
Nice easy walk along the Fraser River. Never know what you might see. Eagles, seals, etc. Nice viewing area on Kanaka Creek. Easy walk for all family members. Also great viewing area on the Fraser River.
This is an awesome walk. It's very flat and you have two choices. Straight along the river and back, or along the river and thru a meadow in a loop. Along the river is wheelchair accessible. People are very responsible with their pets. We've met only socialized ones. Watch for bears from spring thru the salmon spawn.
It is close to home, easy to walk with a nice easy trail, some bridges, look outs and there is a loop trail to take.
A perfect walk for all ages and abilities, from young families and joggers, to those who need the help of a cane or a wheelchair to get around. There is a lot wildlife, although I haven't seen the bunnies recently (think they may have become someone's dinner). We've watched the Canada Geese there from the nesting to raising their young. It's a happy place! We walk our dog there regularly, as do so many other fido owners, and most stop and chat. There are benches placed along the riverbank for those who just want to sit back and enjoy the view. WARNING! Just don't go doown there during Mosquito season or you will be eaten alive!!!!!!!
This is a nice walking area, not too strenuous, with beautiful views and the chance to see lots of local wildlife. There is easy access to the parking lot off Lougheed Highway. I love sitting on a bench and watching the river - soon you see fish jumping and I've seen harbour seals too. It's especially nice on a sunny day. Bring your camera. A couple of cautions: I would not recommend walking there alone. It's just common sense, I think. It is busy on weekends but during the week can be very quiet. Also, be aware that the banks of the river are very muddy. If you let your dog get down to the water, he will love it but have some towels back in your car to clean him up.
Easy walk, you can do a loop through the treed area and also along the Fraser River, both have nice views with good photo opportunities. There are several benches along the river and also seating near the begining of the forest walk, before you cross the bridge in to the treed area. If you plan to sit anywhere you will probably need bug spray for the mosquitos. I would recommend this walk to anyone, the river portion is very level for people with difficulty walking.
This is a great place to walk your dog or just take a stroll yourself. The trails are well maintained. It is great to be able to see the water from most of it. Serenity and beauty abound.
This is a nice easy walk beside the Fraser River and some of the trail that intertwine. The only recommendation I have is to wear bug spray. The mosquitos can be really bad through the trails. They are fine on the trail beside the River. You can get some lovely photos here and it is a very popular dog walking spot.
This is a well maintained, easy to access walk that is good for anyone. It's only a short jaunt before you see beautiful river views. There is a great watchtower that the kids will love to climb. You can walk along the dikes of the Fraser River or venture off into a small loop through the trees. You should see some wildlife along the route. My dog loves this walk!!
We loved the walk on the Kanaka estuary and the view of the Frazer River. Awesome wildlife viewing area! We saw eagle, heron and bear tracks! The trail is an easy walk and was pretty well used.
The trail from the parking lot is on a dike and follows Kanaka creek down to the Fraser river. The trail is gravel and well drained. There are usually lots of birds to see. The viewing platforms along the trail are a great addition to help with the viewing of wildlife. in good weather the trails are quite well used.
