I found this company online, and was a little hesitative as there was only 1 old tripadvisor review. I decided to book anyway, and glad I did. We rented the SUV and camping gear for 2 and spent 13 days camping in the gulf islands and Vancouver Island. We were lucky enough to do this during the drought of 2013 in BC, so we had no rain during the entire trip... After picking up the SUV, make a quick stop at a Safeway or a Thrifties for some groceries, and you will be on your way to a fun camping adventure. All equipment functioned well, and I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a fun camping vacation. Check out their website for all the info...If you happen to go to Salt Spring Island, highly suggest Ruckle park. We had walk in site 63, right on the water, amazing... They have wheelbarrows for campers to use to bring their gear down to the sites.
Just returned from a fabulous trip driving across B.C. I rented a truck complete with camping gear for 2 and a canoe from Canadian Adventure Rentals and drove a loop tour from Vancouver to Nelson and back (had planned to go to Banff, but didn't get that far..too much fun in the hot springs north of Nelson). The Provincial campgrounds were excellent (although Haynes Point in Oosoyoos proved to be a very windy experience!). Be sure to reserve ahead for camp spots on the weekend - had to stay at a privite site only one night - the camp site was a little smaller. Great weather - surprisingly hot. Also had good fishing and canoeing in the Kamloops/Merritt area and the best part was being able to drop the truck off at the rental site and not have to bother unpacking the camping gear. Canadian Adventure Rentals gave excellent service, the Nissan Xterra had no mechanical problems and all the camping gear was in good shape. I'd recommend it to anyone flying into Vancouver that wants a camping experience, or anyone with a small 2 seater car that is a local - like me!
