A beautiful Hydro-made lake; bbqs, washrooms, grassy area plus a lovely beach, walking paths and dog park. A great place to spend the day.
This was my first visit to the park. I camped the night. Hiked around the lake, and went to the falls the next morning. Great location, clean site, and well maintained overall. Very helpful, and friendly park staff! My only complaint was the constant noise from the major logging operation right next to the north/west side of the park. If you want to see this beautiful park in all it's glory, I suggest that you see it soon. Before there is nothing left of one of the lower mainlands only remaining provincial camp sites. What a shame!
Smallish but perfectly formed. Fantastic views of the mountains, beautiful walk around it, lots of seating, picnic sites and facilities
Great trail and only 3km, mostly flat. Safe swimming for all ages, you can also launch canoes and many picnic sites with views of the lake. You can also camp here with tents and family.
We were visiting friends in Mission and they suggested a short trip to Rolley Lake. We never say no to seeing new places so off we went.20 minutes drive and we were there. The parking lot was full, which had us worried at first, but it turned out to be fine. Most visitors were concentrated at the pretty sandy beach. We took the trail that runs around the lake. It is a beautifully maintained trail that runs in full shade through thick forest which makes it nice and cool even on a hot August day....The trail wasn't crowded at all, which was nice, considering the parking lot situation. We took our time, stopped for photos and spent over an hour walking the trail. The lake is beautiful, the setting in the forest is magnificent, the trail is great - All in all a wonderful way to spend a morning (or any other part of the day....).Well Worth it and Highly Recommended!!!!!
We spent all day yesterday at Rolley Lake and had a fantastic time! The water was perfect for a nice swim, the people around us were friendly and the picnic lunch we brought was delicious
We live nearby and love this spot. It's a lively 2.75km loop around the lake, easy walking and also good for jogging. No powerboats on the lake mean it's always quiet. We always see people fishing but have never seen a caught fish!?! The swimming is good but cold unit August and September :-)
Rolley Lake Provincial Park is north of the Fraser River and not too far from Mission, BC. It is a pocket of beauty in forested rolling hills. The highlight is the broad trail, with few grades, that encircles the oblong-shaped lake. The route is mostly under a thick tree canopy but the boardwalk section is out in the open with views across the water, to distant hills. Rolley Lake Provincial Park also includes a campground and picnic tables.
We went here early evening. It was quite difficult to find but well worth the effort. We went for a walk around the lake on advice from two park rangers and were very glad we did. It was a beautiful walk and only took us about an hour and that included stopping to take lots of photos. The trees are magnificent with lots of interesting mosses etc. The light was great for photos at that time. It was just starting to get darker when we left.
As we live in the area, we often bring visitors, of any age, here for an easy walk around the lake which gets them into some forest and great scenery without a whole day event. I always bring my camera for some outdoorsy shots. You can access some other hikes in the area and use the park for summer camping. We have never camped here.
