Queen's park is great for picnics, playing field sports, exercising but the dog park leaves something to be desired after the rain. Super muddy, not a lot of grass but shadded for the summer when puppies need to keep cool.

Had some time to kill in New Westminster and had the dogs with me, so we first went to the off leash dog park. It is well fenced and huge, providing lots of space for our young GSD to run. Then we set off around the park for my exercise. Good quality paths around the entire park provide a safe environment.

I spent my childhood years living near this iconic park. After the major storm in the 1960's myself & friends started exploring around the fallen trees and during our high school summer breaks this was the hang out for all of the young generations. I played tennis on the courts & baseball on the fields! The arena was the go to place for the Salmon bellies lacrosse teams during the 1960's & 70's. This park brings back many great memories from my past & future for my grand kids!

See a rose garden, play in a water park, visit a Petting Zoo (voluntary donation only) , play in a playground and have a picnic, and in certain days and hours enjoy the small art gallery. Enjoy the surrounding original forest ! This is a great place to relax for the afternoon with your kids! It's a hub of New Westminster community activity with stadium, ice rink, gym, soccer fields.

This park is great for families and is huge. There are tons of trees covering this weird adult playground. There are monkey bars for tall people and a course to run through. I used to go here as a kid and recently just went back. I'm sure it would be beautiful in the summer. The only down side is the traffic around the park.

A beautiful large park and great place to take your kids. The park has spray pools and activities for the children in summer. The petting zoo is always a big hit. Large playground area with climbing and swinging. Picnic under cover or tables scattered here and there. A peaceful place for all ages.

Great little park with all kind of amenities in New Westminster at any time of the year! Rain or shine!

If you are in New Westminster with kids, make your way to Queen's Park. The kids' play area is outstanding. They have several slides, one with rollers! They have a zip-line type of structure and aside from regular swings they have a spin swing. It is a fun place for kids.

There are lots of trees in the park, along with a giant playground. Very popular with the children and parents, especially in the summer. The trees tend to add to some shade, to make it seem a bit cooler in the summer. There is also the children's water park, and the petting farm area.Petting farm is open from Victoria Day to Labour Day inclusive.Sometimes in the summer there are programs for kids put on by the city where there are crafts for kids and games. In the fall and winter it isn't as busy, and is nice place to walk and to play.

This is a popular place for weddings, casual walks, sports enthusiasts, and includes a children's water park, and petting zoo. It is a great place to spend an afternoon with the family, or for a romantic walk. The rose garden is especially nice and where many couples get married including ourselves! It includes benches, picnic areas as well! It's one of those places that you wont want to visit just one time. & when you are finished your visit, if you like old houses, you can drive around the local blocks and see Streets of old charm & Historic Houses. We often do this. Every visit seems like a different experience.

An oasis in this less than welcoming suburb of Vanc. Park at your own risk. Open paths that appear to be safe.

Drawn by the petting zoo and water park, we've visited on a couple occasions, once on a busy long weekend. To beat the crowds and stake out a good place to sit near the water park/playground, get there by 10am. I believe that's when the petting zoo opens as well. Be warned that the zoo area can be a little nasty from various animal droppings...watch your step! Our little guy loves the water park, and it's nice that the park provides some buckets and things to play with. The playground area is a little awkward though, being split up into three smaller sections. It's also a little lacking for smaller kids/toddlers. There are no small slides, only two really high ones for much bigger kids. There also isn't really anywhere for smaller kids to climb. Overall a good place for family with young kids to spend a couple hours.

This is a beautiful park in the city of New Westminster. It has several play areas for the kids, as well as a petting zoo. There are activities here all year round as well. Or favourite is visiting the Easter Bunny. There are activities setup around the park for the kids, a band, and all sorts of fun times. Not to mention that the park is beautiful as well.

It's not a massive park but has enough in which to spend an hour or two. The rose garden is well laid out and would be an amazing sight if all were in bloom. There is a petting zoo with goats and other animals for the kids plus a proper play area nearby. The Arena holds ice hockey matches and across the way is the stadium of the Sapperton Baseball team. Also there are some nice woodland walks and picnic areas with black squirrels scuttling around. It's certainly a good place to go to unwind and relax.
