Had a lovely 2 nights here in our tent trailer, in site 16 that backed on to the lake, near the playground. Location was perfect for our son to run around, play and explore without getting too far from our site. Not a lot of trees in this end of the campground for shade, but apart from that it was great. We were impressed with the vigilance of park staff in patrolling the whole campground to make sure everyone was behaving themselves, and keeping the place clean and tidy. The beach area was nice early in the day, but got very busy later on. We ended up doing a lot of playing the water very close to our campsite, where it was quieter and just as nice for swimming. We'll definitely go back!
Sadly, Park Facility Operator (Mr. Liard) is rude and totally lacking the camping ethic! He seems to like riding around in his golf cart and barking orders at campers and female staff!!!!! Don't go there if you'd like to relax.
Well cared for, clean, spacious, excellent caretakers, friendly fellow campers... couldn't have been better!
By far one of our favorite parks. We love the campground with the trees, flush toilets, and frolicking chipmunks. You may even see a deer or two at dawn and dusk. The campers and park operators are friendly. The sandy beach isn't too far of a walk. There is a big grassy field and a playground too. My 3 year old loved participating in the Provincial Park Scavenger Hunt. Thank you for that :)It isn't a huge beach, the lake is pretty cold, the field has some dips in it, you will need your own soap for the bathrooms, the bathroom doors may not lock, there may be loud kids or groups past quiet time, and there are several ant hills. It's not too far from Merritt, where you can drive out to get a treat from Dairy Queen on those super hot days. They have a small store and have firewood for purchase.Pack up the kids, dig out the sand toys, buy some beer, and head to Monck.
