Having read previous reviews just had to come and experience it for ourselves. Having done most of our riding in UK my husband and I soon felt at home riding western style after being given some tips by Sarah. The horses were very well mannered, sure footed and willing and therefore a pleasure to ride. We did the day ride and lunch pack up was excellent. Boots and helmet were provided so did not have to find room in our suitcases for them. All in all we had a thoroughly enjoyable day . Would recommend without hesitation.

We had such a great afternoon. What an enchanting place, lovely people and easy to ride horses. Our girls (6 and 8 years old) were allowed the ride their own horses (with a line to the supervisors at first, later without). The dogs from the ranch ran along with us through the woods, along the river and over the hills. During the ride we learned a lot from Sarah during relaxed conversations. After the ride, we got delicious homemade iced tea and cookies. We loved that we got the change to help with the horses afterwards; unsaddling the horses, cooling them down with the water hose and brushing them down. My wife and I had a great afternoon here. We saw lots of amazing scenery. The horses are very easy to ride. The owners are really nice, at the end of our ride they provided homemade cookies and ice tea. Well worth the reasonable price.

My partner and I had been talking about visiting the Shooks' Ranch for months and we finally did! Sarah and Ed were so very wonderful and we truly enjoyed our ride with Sarah, and appreciated the carefully prepared lunch and gorgeous nature all around us! Thanks for everything! We'll definitely be back!

One of the best places on earth.... Wonderful, professionally guided trail rides in the beautiful North Thompson Valley. The horses are well behaved and fun to ride, the scenery is absolutely stunning and the Shook's hospitality can't be beat! I enjoyed riding there every day for a long time and still could not get enough of it. A must-do if you come to the area!!!
