A well marked path leads to the falls and there is a good viewing platform to see the water boiling over the rocks. There are also excellent information boards describing the formation of the falls
This was such a great experience to see the salmon struggle getting up the chutes. We just couldn't stop watching them.
It's a must see while visiting Well's Gray Park. Ample parking and a short hike along the river trail brings you out onto a platform over looking Bailey's Chute. It's a boiling mass of raging water. It is unbelievable that the salmon are capable of overcoming this obstacle. While late in the salmon run and we missed the salmon we observed small trout trying to go upstream. None that we saw were successful. It is a gorgeous spot with the rocks and raging water. Just wish we could have been here during the salmon run.
Raging water....would be so cool to be here in the September, when the bears come to catch fish that are spawning! Water was raging, at this point! Next to the road...easy access. Parking was available across the street. Hiking trails wandered next to the river, where we found heavy evidence of moose.
We just spent 5 days on a back country hut to hut hike in Wells Grey park. A piece of paradise in Canada. Diverse terrain. Mountains, valley and meadows of beautiful flowers. A well preserved piece of Canada that everyone should experience. What I loved the most was being out of touch with everything but what was right in front of me.
Wir konnten hier die Lachse springen sehen. Wer Anfang September vor Ort ist und ein bisschen Geduld im Gepäck hat, der sollte sich das nicht entgehen lassen - herzzereißend, dramatisch, einfach beeindruckend.
