Serenity is just what it says - and in so many ways! When the artists stand on stage, they see the valley and the North Thomson River - pure magic! There is free camping available - can't go wrong there! There are outdoor facilities available, and this year they have added a shower house. The venue is wheelchair accessible, there is parking close to stage for handicapped people. The venue is totally family oriented - there is no smoking and no alcohol allowed on site during the show. Children under 12 are free - and there is plenty to keep them occupied, with space to run, a small creek to play in, and all in a safe, fenced environment. The caliber of talent that is showcased here is phenomenal. Most are BC homegrown, up and coming artists who really appreciate that they have such a great venue to play in. Some artists have come back year after year, and it is a great pleasure to be able to meet them and get to know them off stage. Since it is an outdoor venue, there is some covered seating and also blankets available for those evenings when it gets cooler. There are two concessions - one that will have supper ready for you (with the best poutine on the planet) and the other to provide dessert - cheesecake like you have never tasted! There is a little music store, where the artists are available to sign your cd's. All in all, it is the perfect getaway if you love the open air and great music. You can actually see the stars at night, and there is no traffic noise............get out of the city and go visit!!
What an absolutely magical setting overlooking the North Thompson River AND... fantastic music. We had a full day and evening of top quality entertainment in a very personal setting with the outdoor stage overlooking the river. The horses running in the large field next door, the thousands of stars in the clear night sky, the exceptional quality of the musicians, the friendly management and other attendees, and of course, the fun, fun, fun dancing made Serenity Music a must on my summer agenda. And...it is only 2 hrs north of Kamloops with free camping on site! I am definitely going back for the last concert of the summer season on September 10th! Kathy Richins
