Such a nice, well groomed park. There are duck ponds, rose gardens, a petting zoo, acorn trees, beautiful gardens, the giant watering bucket. you could easily come here to admire the beauty, have a picnic or relax and read a book. Great for all ages. I could spend hours here.
Large, well laid-out and maintained park near the centre of Victoria. Lovely gardens and trees with good grassed areas for strolling, running, games and relaxing. Perfect for kids, with a petting zoo an added attraction. Shouldn't be missed on a visit to this area. It's up there with the best of the large city-parks around the world.
This is a big and beautiful park. It has a petting zoo and beautiful flower beds and tons of oak tree's. Nice spot to play some catch or have a picnic.
Great place to wander, picnic, reflect or give the kids a place to run. Children's farm is cute (few animals in early spring) but donations should be by patron discretion and not have set recommended amounts. Seek out the small stone bridge dedicated to Emily Carr by her sister.
Large park with several duck ponds and beautiful grounds. There is a petting zoo good for kids. Take photos at the "mile 0" sign.Dan
It's a wonderful city park near right by the Dallas road walk. In the summer there are free concerts. Nice petting zoo. Just a really nice place to visit
Beacon Hill Park is lovely during the warmer months. You can easily spend the whole day there visiting the animals and walking though the beautiful rose gardens. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away. Be sure to grab a soft cone ice cream on your way...the best ice cream in the city. Best of all, the people are friendly. Have a look where I describe Victoria as a friendly city; here in BBC Travel:http://www.bbc.com/travel/story/20141009-living-in-the-worlds-friendliest-cities
Make sure to use Tally Hoe Horse & Carriage Rides, the 45 minute tour was amazing - we had a great tour guide who gave us great information about Victoria, and was quite entertaining at the same time!
This parks feels like a huge garden. Petting Zoo with baby goats tin the spring for your kids to brush them, ponds to sit and enjoy your coffee, feed the ducks with grain( not bread). Trails to walk down to the water-Clover Point. Just across from the best soft ice cream- Beacon Drive on Douglas St. They use real butter cream instead of ice milk.
Expansive park with beautiful flora around the trails, ponds filled with ducks and turtles, and peacocks roaming free. Lots of great photo ops. Be sure to check out the petting zoo (stay close to young children in the goat pen because the rams are jumping and head butting each other continually) and be sure to enjoy the running of the goats back to their pen at the end of the day! The playground area was nice, but there were a few homeless people in that area because bathrooms are nearby. We had no issues and felt safe during our visit.
We needed a walk and what could be better than a park, away from the traffic and so many tourists! This is a natural park and features large rocks, a hill as the name suggests and several paths. It is beautiful with many flowers and a lovely duck pond, with many ducks in it. If you need some relaxation with a little exercise, get to the park, not far from the BC Museum.
Visiting in February 2015 meant that there were carpets of daffodils, crocuses, and all kinds of varieties of tiny flowers and flowering plants everywhere, ponds and small fountains and pathways to walk on......Spring was 6 weeks ahead this year in Victoria. Give the shopping a break, leave the museums for another day, and wander through this lovely park. Certain views will show the Olympic mountains on the US side. There is presently a trial of a restricted driving route through the park .......then a review will be made as to whether this should become permanent (like in Stanley park in Vancouver). There is a petting zoo and a putting green open in the summer (I've been there in July as well),
We walked all around one day and went to the Breakwater and walked to the end and then came back along the walking path through Holland Point Park and up through Beacon Hill Park. Excellent walk Beacon Hill is very nice with viewpoints, little ponds with ducks that the kids like, and peacocks in the trees and strolling around.
