parksville community park and skate park

Huge park on the ocean - beautiful sandy beach with amazing tidal changes. Large beach volleyball tournaments (summer), international renowned sand carving festival (summer), huge young children playground with all kinds of apparati, lovely boardwalk and beach walk for all ages. Changerooms, and external sand removal showers. Inadequate food facilities should be replace this year with food trucks. Huge grass area for kite flying. Lots of parking, free library book kiosk, washrooms - what more could one ask?

It was as close to being a perfect natural beach as possible. Loved it. We enjoyed walking on the beach after the tide was out.

My kids love this park because there is endless fun, and always tons of other kids running around and having fun. Bonus points for the super clean grounds, the picnic areas and lots of shade to keep you from getting sunburned. Theres tons to do here from playing in the park, going to the skate park, walking on the beach, walking along a path. We regularly bring our little bbq here and spend the whole day just having fun.

Nice park well cared for. I will be returning as the sun will! All kinds of stuff to do in the park.

I spend occasional times skating with family, enjo the layout and fun small circle area outside of areana4 in lobby area.. Love the facility and area.

There is something for everyone in a beautiful setting. Sit on a bench or walk the boardwalk along the waterway, take time for the labyrinth, children will enjoy the playground and adults can workout on the free outdoor exercise equipment. There are food vendors in the summer months, beach volleyball and more.

This park is fabulous for families, for teenagers, for seniors…..something for all ages!There's a great boardwalk that spans the beach. There's a water park for the little ones, a big sand field for beach volleyball and other games, picnic tables, and best of all - a wonderful sand beach in the bay!There's a snack bar and the washrooms are always clean. Parking is plentiful.All around, this park is fabulous and well used by locals and tourists alike.

A huge treeless park on the beach in Parksville. Lots of activities for children. A good dog-walking spot. Very busy in summer. Not so much on a Thursday in October.

We spent three nights in Parksville, every day we went for a walk to this park! This activity area was enjoyed by kids to the elderly, who were walking or spending time exercising on the out door equipment. The skate park is on one side or the kids play ground is well equipped for all to enjoy. Plus you can see the sites & sounds of the beach area/board walk. If you are looking for a book to read, you can find it the outside library locker by the play park.

I grew up on this beach. The tide goes out forever leaving a natural sandy beach strewn with sand dollars and warm tide pools for collecting shells. The park itself has a wide variety of playground equipment to accommodate all ages. There is a picnic area under the evergreens and the area is well maintained. The park has lots of parking for those wanting to fly kites or participate in the many community events this seaside community offers. Everything from vintage car shows to sandcastle competitions.

Lovely place to see the ocean. Nice family place with park and waterpark. Bathrooms are convenient and always clean. Love the boardwalk.

We visited here because of the sand castle competition. They were amazing and we had a great time taking photos and voting for our favorites. We were unprepared to find such a wonderful park in which to relax and enjoy the water. Plenty of seating and lots of lovely sand areas.

This is a very well designed park and obviously loved by the local community and visitors. We were there multiple times during the beach festival and sandcastle competition catching a concert performance, activities or a bite to eat. The children's playground is award-winning and impressive for a community this size - lots of whimsical and kid-friendly features. Loved the pop-up library stand where you can borrow a book and/or leave a book - says a lot about the community.

We stopped by to have the kids burn off some energy and were surprised by how extensive the play area was. They loved the zip line and dozens of play structures. We also took some time to walk down the boardwalk, throw rocks into the ocean and watch the skateboarders.It's a great stop for any age.
