观赏峡湾遇到退潮所产生的大漩涡奇景，但来回得走森林步道近2.5小时，不包含看景时间1小时，今天要给阿公阿妈拍拍手，他们全程走完哟！

Great rainforest hike through old moss covered trees. Trail is very well kept. One hour in and the treat at the end was the fierce rapids (tide timed right) and enjoyable time watching kayakers battle the rapids. Lots of purple starfish clinging to the rocks to enjoy.After the trail walk, went out on a zodiac boat ride to see the sites by water and Mike took us to Skookumchuck rapids and we were riding the rapids too being watched by all the spectators on land LOL ! That was a surprise.Check the tide charts to get the most of the adventure. Even the walk is worth the time/effort. Enjoy :)

The 4 km walk to the narrows is an easy one with a few ups and downs on a well-maintained trail through the woods. It will take you 45 - 60 minutes to arrive at the narrows. Be sure to print off the tide chart before you go so that you can see this phenomenon at its peak!

A lovely walk through the woods! The rain forest was just amazing! Beautiful huge trees with moss and ferns growing all over. A very nice walking trail. I'd say about a little under half was about level. The rest of the walk was at a slight grade with a bunch of short "not too steep" hills closer to the rapids. You may find difficulty if you have rather bad walking issues but I have a tender hip that acts up during steep hills and I was just fine. Bring good shoes. They will make all the difference for this 1.5 (or so) hour walk.The rapids were spectacular! We arrived as the tide was in the middle of going out but it was still great. Swirling eddies and rolling waves. Hoping we can come back to visit during high or low tide one day. So much water! There was a large sea lion diving and fishing amongst the rapids! Oh, unfortunately the bakery at the start of the hike was closed for the season since we went in October. Too bad :(

Time it with the tides and you won't be disappointed. An incredible amount of moving water, and if you're lucky enough to catch a few friendly kayakers, it's an amazing site!

This is an easy hike/walk, takes about 50 minutes each way and that's with a husband who is waiting for a new hip! Quiet and peaceful.

Easy trek thru the woods and go for the North view - turn right at the end. We should have taken a picnic as it's about an hour walk.

We had a spare 1/2 day and decided to walk to the rapids from Egmont to kill time. We were so glad we made the effort as the rapids were really amazing, and we loved watching the crazy kayakers playing in the white water.The trail was further than we first thought and was quite hard work as there is a fair amount of ascent/descent. We recommend stout shoes rather than flip flops, and make sure you take some water with you it is warm. The views on the trail were great. Towards the end the trail splits and we chose the right hand fork which took us right up to the main white water which I think was better than the left fork. Watch out for the bakery at the start of the trail - well worth stocking up!There is a "dunny" just after the fork in the trail and some at the start - but no other bathroom facilities.

It's a wonderful walk to the rapids from Egmont through the rain forest. The best time to visit is when it's a very high tide as the rapids are fastest in the world I believe.

nice walk and great rapids, I would recommend one of the things to do when you are here, stop at the bakery on your way out or in, also check out the museum across the street. Ideal time to see is when the rapids are at max but slack water is also nice if you might get a chance to see marine traffic transit the area. Lots of neat sea life to look at low water.

I went in when the tide table showed extra large flood. I arrived an hour before the tide chart said and stayed to watch the rodeo kayakers challenge the rapids. I brought supper with me so I leisurely enjoyed supper while watching very energetic men and women kayak the flood waters. Amazing!The hike in and out is very doable, whether you are six or 80 it is worth the trek.

We were told this was the 2nd fastest tidal race in the world and it does not disappoint! Choose the tides with care using the published tables available on the web so that you get the best currents and this is an awesome spectacle - kayaks riding the waves and a ferocious current hurtling through the narrows. A brilliant mile (or so) walk through the forest brings you to the waterside - we took some sandwiches and spent almost two hours mesmerised by the water. Definitely one for the 'bucket list'.

With big tide changes many people watch kayakers and surfers challenging the rapids doing stunts. Quite amazing ! Check it out on line.

I am in pretty good shape, and the hike took 70 minutes in and 70 minutes out. On the way there were more than a few people that had found it too difficult. The rapids are just that, and unless you get there when the tide's ebb and flow are at the maximum, it's rather disappointing. Even at the right times, the rise/fall of the rapids is only a few feet. The positive reviewers must have never seen real "white water" or been to Niagara Falls.

One of the unusual spots on the planet, this should be on your to do list. It will take you about an hour to walk in and another hour to walk out, The difficulty is posted at level 2, what ever that means, but if you are in half decent shape you will enjoy the experience. Speaking of the walk, the trees and flora are glorious .If it were up to me, no one in BC would be allowed to cut down a single tree as they are so majestic. Just got to love the cedars. The beauty of this province is such a national treasure. The rapids activity will depend on the time you visit so check the tidal charts ahead of time. Quite a sight.. I walked down to right as you are facing the rapids to check the tidal pool for starfish. Not the safest place as the rocks could cause a trip if you are not careful but for me it was well worth seeing. There is a nice little bake shop just before you start the trail. The only thing I wish they would improve, is the maintenance of the toilet on the trail . Not pleasant . But regarding this hike to the rapids , at the time of this writing,it is free and there are no fees whatsoever . So all considered, a big thank you to the powers that be for allowing us visit this beautiful and hidden treasure in BC. Well worth the walk.!!!!
