This is a smaller park and tends to be quiet, often not very crowded. It is well shaded under a canopy of trees, so sun worshipers will have to keep moving to catch full rays. We like to use this park to start and end a kayak adventure. The beach is larger boulders and not overly swim friendly, but excellent for beach combing. Within walking distance to the government wharf and a longer stroll to the Laughing Oyster restaurant for a real end of paddle treat for dinner
A splendid place to walk and read the interpretive signs and explore.Ancient Broad Leaf Maples on the shore, ancient clam gardens off the beach. Good boots make the walking easier but you hardly need to get out of the car to appreciate the wonder of the place. I have not camped there and the people I know who have appreciate the primitive facilities of a Provincial campground or, at least, appreciate the small fee for camping.
We've been coming up to Lund and camping at Okeover Provincial Park for the past 15 or so years, and it's a highlight of our summer. As others have noted, the place has gone through some tough times--as recently as two years ago, many of the picnic tables were broken, etc. But...the place is under new management, and the improvements are impressive. New tables, clean outhouses, and a chatty, friendly host--Nikki--who will also sell you firewood (if there isn't a campfire ban as there was this year). Lund is just a few kilometers away, and definitely worth exploring. The area is best appreciated from the water, so bring your boat if you can, or rent a kayak and visit the Copeland Islands (the locals still call them the Raggeds) or venture into Desolation Sound. The people are friendly, the camping is great, and the oysters are delicious! It's a place you won't soon forget!
Triainquility nobody there, and no bugs.Awesun place to see.It takes about a two hour trex too get there but it is so worth it. Sleeping on the shore in tall grass and listening to the magic of the ocean was breathtaking..Give it a GO.
Cruised down the Okeover Arm to the Laughing Oyster at the south end. What a view, great food, lots going on (kayakers, windsurfer, ultra-lite - beautiful spot
Okeover Arm Provincial Park is one of those wonderful places you don't want to leave. The park has about 10+ tent sites that you can drive to. Great place to swim, kayak and beach combing.Hope that helps.
Tall trees separate the unserviced, gravel campsites. Pit toilet at one end of the campground. Picnic area at the entrance. No ocean views but there is footpath access to the ocean where the oysters and clams are plentiful.
A pretty little park on the Malaspina Peninsula overlooking Okeover Inlet. There’s a small picnic and camping area. Also, boat launch with moorage nearby. It appears to be a popular spot to harvest oysters by the looks of all the empty shells on the beach. You need a fishing license for this and check for closures due to contamination. If you have time, stop by the very popular restaurant, Laughing Oyster, which is close by on Malaspina Road.
