Don't leave Powell River without visiting this Nature trail!!! It is easy to walk and it is wheel chair accessible. It is so romantic!!! I have walked it many times!
Locals and Visitors from the adjacent RV park use this trail regularly. It is flat and takes about half an hour to walk from one end and back. Lots of forestry historical info posted along the way as well as old logging equipment to examine or for kids to climb. The trail is used by bike riders as well so be listening for them coming up from behind. Lots of nice ocean views as well and side trails down to the beach. If you never taken it you really should try it out.
The nearness to the great outdoors with virtually no one else in sight. Nature at your finger tips. Birds, bugs, fish, fauna and flora. It was all wonderful.
This is worth the time to walk from the concession or parking lot to the not overly well marked trail head in the camping area. The trail is wide, perfect for running or walking on bark mulch. Huge old growth trees, and if the tide is low you can wonder on the beach as well making an excellent circle hike
This is a nice walk along the waterfront. It is mostly shaded and it is flat. Squirrels are abundant as are birds and other wildlife. We saw a deer on the trail too.
A beautiful walk through tall trees along the sea-shore. The forestry museum has placed assorted old logging equipment along the path which is very interesting. Squirrels scurry around along the way, hoping that kids or tourists bring a few peanuts for them to enjoy. The path is level, wide and easy to walk on - takes about 15 minutes each way at a leasurely pace and is a wonderful chance to enjoy our coastal forest and seaside view with easy access and user friendly for all ages.
Gentle walk beside the ocean and under the trees with many old pieces of logging equipment to examine.
Don't miss this wonderful walk, beautiful trees, information plaques along the way and great water views
The Beach walk is wonderful. Easy to walk, clean, friendly folks walking along the trail too. The view is spectacular.
Willingdon beach trail starts at the campground and weaves its way along the sea shore, through large timber, museum like logging equipment displays and small signs describing local common plants along the way. Taxeda Island, Vancouver Island, Harwood and Savory Island can be seen while strolling along this beautiful nature trail.
Willingdon Beach is such a fun and family friendly place to visit. I love the huge trees and watching people enjoying themselves playing. Imagine ice cream cones for only $1.90!
I go there for walks or I ride my chopper on it to bike to townsite as it is a lot faster, more quiet and friendly.
Very comfortable RV and tenting campsite with strategic location along the beach adjacent to the City of Powell River on the north side.http://www.willingdonbeach.ca
This nice bay is right in Powell River and looks like good swimming. The fish and chips were pretty good here. We had a nap under the trees.
Stunning old growth trees, runs parallel to ocean from main beach and campsite.Logging history presented along the way in form of old equipment from bygone years.Very accessible in town.
