My fiance and I were given a gift for a sleigh ride at Christmas and we used it on March 7th, 2015. We arrived at Warner Stables and greeted by a cowboy who introduced us to our pulling team. They had a fire, hot chocolate, and marshmallows while you waited for the wagon ride to start. The wagon ride was supposed to be a sleigh ride but with the fabulous weather, there was no snow! The 45 minute ride went through the town. Our cowboy told us a bunch of stories and taught us more about Banff. It was a lovely tour and we are planning on going back in the summer for their trail rides.
The whole family went to Banff for a sleigh ride but due to weather changes the snow melted and we went for a wagon ride instead with a team of horses and and a real Canadian Cowboy ! We traveled through Banff and were regaled with stories about the horses, about the origins of Banff (the town) and about life in the day of a cowboy. The children loved it. Groupon had a deal going for this also.
My husband and I were visiting Banff, and trying to find things we could do with our little guy! Groupon had a deal the day we were headed down, so we paid $30 for 2 adults to go on a wagon ride (regularly $65), so that was a good savings! You tour from the ranch, around town, by Bow River and then head back. It was nice to have a ride, and the experience with the horses, but other than that...you could walk the route they took you on. We definitely wouldn't do it again, but it was an enjoyable experience. We'd love to come back in the summer and do trail rides.
A nice sleigh ride with Hot Chocolate. Ride was about 45 minutes and had spectacular views of Mt. Rundle
I bought the groupon for the sleigh ride and went with my husband and two young kids. Other sleigh rides we have been in the guides ring bells or tell stories about the horses or sing songs. Our guide just talked about the business aspect. Totally borring. Was also not impressed by the route. Just a 45 min figure 8 around a big field. Not through any forest or anything really scenic. The hot chocolate and cider is pre packaged with a ton of chemical ingredients so didn't want to drink that and the snores were non existent- just a marshmallow to roast. Not worth the $39 in my opinion. My mom went earlier in the year and felt the same. Sorry.
The sleigh ride was was a loop around the field behind the stables. The fireside warm up stop was actually at the end in the barn area next to where we started. Save your money!! Sadly disappointed.
Thank you for taking the time to write the review. We do appreciate your feedback and Im glad you enjoyed the ride.
First off, the company was great, and the stables were pretty interesting. Booking the sleigh ride was easy, and we were able to get in for the following hour. No complaints about the ride, or Warner Stables! Our driver/guide was awesome, and really knew the area well. The horses Blaze and Sherman were beautiful and handled the snow-packed ice well. Why people are complaining about going in the dark is beyond me... just look at the forecast for the sun set time and avoid the night? Or consider that it's winter time here in Canada and it gets dark relatively early. When my spouse and I went, it was about -25C - so we really had to dress for the weather. For some reason, some other guests brought their infant children. Obviously, the poor kids were miserably cold and screaming the whole ride. Just consider the weather before booking with the little ones, please. It isn't like other winter activities where you're moving around and keeping warm. Have fun!
Thank you for your review Im glad you and your family enjoyed our Sleigh Rides. Happy New Year.

Unfortunately, we had a sleighride at 7pm and it was a ride in pitxhblack and silence. Paid $250 for.8 of us. It seemed to be through a few bushes and a few open field circles on the property. We should have been told that it was a ride in the dark. As well, the port a potties were unusable as once door closes u cannot see... And a mess to boot. I am sure the daylight rides were much better. Staff was nice, but didn't really chat much and I couldn't see them hahaha! Just not worth $30pp to sit the dark, boo.
This was an amazing trip. The horses are super! The guide are very knowledgeable and very kind, the cook was 5 stars!!! I've ate so much, everything was so delicious! The lodge was to die for!!!The whole trip was peaceful and beautiful! I'd love to go for the 4 days one (done the 3 days).Highly recommend it!
Myself and three friends spent five days and four nights traveling on horseback up to the allegheny pass at 9200 feet and back to Banff inAugust 2010. The scenery in Banff national park can't be beat! Spent the first night at the lodge where we were served excellent food and had a great time practicing our roping skills, non-existent for the most part and bonded with the rest of our 8 person group, from various parts of the world. Next day we travelled further up into the Rockies and ended our day at Halfway Lodge with cold beer waiting for us in the creek. A rubber duck race stirred our competitive juices while we waited for another great meal. Everything tastes better after 4-6 hours in the saddle! We helped to settle the horses for the night and looked forward to the next days ride to the top of the pass, over and back to the lodge for our last meal there. A moose sighting woke us, mountain sheep were sighted and bear tracks were closely monitored. Sadly we left Halfway Lodge and headed back down to the first lodge. Beds were comfy, food and company was great. Check that off my bucke list! Would go back in a heart beat! We still talk about it and I have to say it was the best holiday I have ever spent!
its greate, fun & also challenging cause you experience a lot of thing just not for fun but also being wise & well general knowledge.
We had a wonderful experience on a sleigh ride we booked. We had originally booked the public ride but we got there and were given a private ride with a wonderful - Mike. The scenery with the snow covered mountains was beautiful and he was very well informed and gave us a lovely tour. If you are an animal lover, you will want to note that they take wonderful care of their horses and we were very pleased to see how clean and well-kept the whole place was. I would totally recommend this for couples and families.
