The Bow River is a great place to spend the day. I went on a rafting adventure. There is enough current to send you down the river, however, it is quite mild to allow you to jump in for a swim. Kids love it and it is great to stop for a swim!
Love walking or biking the pathway system along the river. It meanders fro many miles through the city. Some area's are bustling & busy, some are quiet and peaceful.
I have lived on this river for over 30 years and although she can be temperamental at times, she is still magnificent providing the city with awe inspiring vistas, beautiful settings and recreation right in a modern urban environment.
I have been a part of Bow River, which is a literally ong river.I was attracted by Bow River as I stride on the bridge of Prince Island Park.Inaddition, sometimes some people drift on the river by raft. It's amazing, right?Go there and enjoy the scenery of Bow River and the voice of Bow River.
I like to take pictures so walking up the many paths and trails was fun. People from Calgary seem to like using the trails also. There is also a large dog park close to the hotel that I stayed at.
I love walking along the water in day or night. There are always tons do family, runners or people with dogs along the pathway and it is beautiful.
The water color is amazing and the fact it is so accessible make it even better. Definitely stop by and take a look.
There are some very nice bridges along the river, particularly the Peace Bridge is futuristic and worth to see. Other bridges become alive during the night when set alight.
beautiful ,maintained trails along the river. Perfect spot for a walk, bike ride or a run. Bridges allow you to cross the river. Great year round.
We came to the Bow River to look for birds during the winter and we weren't disappointed. Lots of open water with many varieties of birds. The pathways we used were well kept and made access to the river easy.
The Bow River flows straight along downtown Calgary. You can walk through parks and enjoy nature straight in the city. Find a place on a bench to relax and just listen to the sound of the water. Amazing!
The Bow River is a great river with lots of paths along it in Calgary and Cochrane. It is great for swimming in on hot summer days. You could bike or walk down and go swimming, or just walk along it for a nice hike.
The Bow has to be my favorite river in North America. It winds its way down the mountains from the Bow Glacier and flows right through the middle of Calgary. It is fantastic to see how Calgary has protected it from the ravages of overdevelopment and how proudly Calgarians use the riverside for recreation and a spiritual centre for the City. Kilometers of bike and walking trails alongside and a touch of wilderness beauty in the heart of the City. The Bow is the soul of Calgary.
We really enjoy the Bow, the bridges over it, and the way the city is using this space for walking, runing, and just enjoying the river area.
Brilliant scenes with a very long pathway for joggers, bike riders. We find the riverpath are nice, modern, clean and well used by the community.
