Telus science center in Edmonton gets the best exhibits! Star Wars, Harry Potter, now this one. It has elements of all the Indiana Jones movies and also includes some real archeological exhibits. You can get through in about an hour if you don't read or listen to everything, 2 hours if you do it all.
Once upon a time Science World was my favourite place in the whole world. I was thrilled when my boyfriend suggested going to see the Indiana Jones Exhibit on Valentines day. The exhibit itself was interesting, very techy with the treasure hunt and while I like Indiana, my boyfriend was a huge fan and he liked getting to see some of the real pieces of memorabilia much more than I did. I liked the little details and having the tablet with videos and info was helpful so that we could go at our own pace. But the other exhibits in the museum were a let down. There just didn't seem to be as much hands on experiments as I remembered. So much was behind glass or broken. There was a compass/GPS exhibit that was confusing and seemed impossible. All in all I was quite disappointed, although I suppose i'm not their target audience. It was also very expensive. If there wasn't an exhibit I wouldn't have paid the almost $30 per person.
So, I had high hopes for this place. My husband and I went with our niece and were surprised at how many of the displays were either broken and unusable or run down and half working. Very disappointed in this experience. The only good thing was the movie. Wouldn't go back here again until they've done some renovations.
This was our first time here, and we just thought we would do something fun with our daughter. First we got there and it wasn't too crowded which was nice. We started off with the Indiana Jones exhibit (which was more for me) I Thought it was amazing. They gave you a tablet at no cost and you got to learn some things as well as play a mini finding game. Over all the exhibit was wonderful.then we had lunch and I must say I was impressed by the "normal" cost of the food. Usually when you go to an attraction place they jacked the food prices up, but not here. After lunch we went through the rest of the rooms. So much for young minds and old minds alike. I found myself playing and smiling, remembering what it was like to learn and explore new things, and watching my daughter get to experience that herself.Overall this is just a fantastic place to spend a day with the family
We planned a spring break trip for our family to Edmonton with Telus World of Science's Indiana Jones exhibition to be the focal point. We arrived at 9:30 on Friday morning, paid our admission and lined up for the exhibit. As we were given our tablets and headphones, we were informed that there were several school groups coming in behind us. Sure enough, we were soon swamped with very rude middle schoolers. My 6 year old was elbowed in the head and then laughed at. It was very difficult to enjoy the exhibit.Overall, the Telus World of Science left a lot to be desired, the staff was friendly, but the facility was lacking. We went to Telus Spark in Calgary last summer and had a lot more fun with all of the hands on activities.
We enjoyed the Indiana Jones exhibit very much. There is a lot to see. Each person gets a tablet with headphones.
The Indiana Jones exhibit held at the TELUS World of Science - Edmonton was amazing, spectacular and worth every penny, Don't buy any other tickets you can spend all day at this exhibit if you read everything and watch all the video trailers. If you are hoping to see other parts of the science centre, then don't watch the video trailers
The Indiana Jones exhibit was FANTASTIC! Loved seeing the movie memorabilia and the "real" exhibits. Finished the day with Raiders of the Lost Ark at the IMAX.
Went to Telus, to see the Indiana Jones display, lots of fun, had by all, very informative, and well set out, and afternoon of fun and learning!!
The exhibits vary. We went to the one about the Titanic, which was awesome and also the one about Star Trek. Lots to do and lots of interactive things for kids. Well worth the money.
Lots of hands on exploring for inquisitive minds. Grandparents thrive on taking grandchildren for a few hours.
Great place especially for kids. They have different exhibitions all the time. Easy to get to, HUGE parking lot. My advice, do not eat at the cafeteria. We all git sick eating their chicken burgers once.
a great staple of cool exhibits along with constantly changing attractions from indiana jones to star wars to dinosaurs. something for everyone. AND is educational! actually good for people!
We were disappointed in this - my daughter was 6 and was bored. It's better for kids with a high reading comprehension.
Went there with my boyfriend for a chilly day activity and it was amusing, but the admission price was a little steep and the place is clearly geared towards kids. IMAX was worth it though (too many kids fussing for my liking, but then again take a look at the surroundings so I can't complain and rate poorly because of it).
