Nice slopes, great equipment, easy to park and ski. Great place 1h drive from Montreal. Also ski school is very good.
Bromont offers excellent skiing-tons of slopes to choose from, perfect in length and in challenge, and lots of skiers (fewer boarders) for those who like to ski with other skiers...it's a place for skiing, there are simply a lot of skiers there. We enjoyed parking at the back chalet (P5), and skiing that side of the mountain, but if you drive around to that side, be watchful as it is a speed trap and the police are snagging unwary tourists in a 50 zone that has been established on a road where you have just turned off an 80 or a 70 depending on the direction!!! They are certainly scooping in funds for the town, from unsuspecting tourists who will not be able to stay in the area to contest the tickets, so be on the look-out, especially Saturday mornings at ski start time, and we saw them there again Sunday afternoon. But with the night skiing, I'm guessing it could be any time.
I just hate when is all fogy on top on the mountains. But is the best near montreal, avoid going on week ends, a lot of people.
When the snow conditions are ok, the waiting time for the chairs is long. On the slopes, some of the ski patroller were too drastic. Others were too permissive.
Friends and I decided to take a ski trip to Bromont. I was nervous because it would be my first time ever skiing. Three of us bought a package which includes equipment rental, skiing for 4 hours and 1.5 hours classes. I was surprised to find out how quickly we've leaned and after decending the beginners ramp twice with our instructor we were already heading to the bigger mount. Everything seems surprisingly safe and everyone is free to go at their own pace. They have tracks for all sorts of skills from very beginning to experts. Our instructor was very friendly and encouraging. I will definitely go back. My only complaint is that I was given the wrong boot size and after my initial steps I came back to get letter boots and I had to wait for good 30 minutes. It was a busy day and I've got the impression that they were understaffed. I would ask someone for help and they would say that they were going to come back and never returned. But that's a minor upset that might be caused by an unexpectedly busy day. I would definitely recommend this place. P.s. also the food / drinks are super expensive, as expected. We had a small stella artoir and we've paid 7.50 for it at the canteen. A friend had a small pasta which was 10 dollars, but if you are travelling with your family and don't want to buy food there you are allowed to bring your own. They have microwaves that you can use, which is quite nice. This is also very family friendly.
Of course, Bromont doesn't compare to the Rockies or the Alps, but among the resort within an hour of Montreal, it is the largest one and the one with the most variety. It works for both beginners and expert skiers (we had both in our group). Everything is well organized (e.g. ski rental, line management at the lifts). It is cheaper than St Sauveur and just feels friendlier. If only the snow was better, it'd be a 5-star resort.
We went to Ski Bromont at 8pm on Friday Dec 12 2014. We rent our equipment at the equipment shop and purchased night lift tickets for both of us. The total was about $150 CAD.The mountain was crowed at night. After getting familiar with our equipment, we waited in a long queue before getting to the lift station, but were denied to use their lift since we didn't have lift tickets attached to our jackets. We showed our receipts but were still denied. Then I realized that the cashier forgot to give us the actual tickets. We didn't explicitly ask for the tickets since they appeared on our receipt, and the cashier never told us that we need to attach the tickets to our jackets. When I came back to the cashier, she immediately recognized me, apologized for forgetting to give me the tickets. It was already 9:15pm (they close at 10pm), so I decided not to ski that night and asked for a refund. The cashier talked to her supervisor, and told me that she was unable to refund me. But instead, she promised to issue me a gift certificate for each of us, which can be used to pay for a 4-hour equipment rental and day-time lift ticket, which is of greater value than the night tickets. We accepted the gift certificates and decided to come back the next morning. However, when we came back the following morning, that cashier was not working and other cashiers refused to honor the gift certificates. We described the situation last night, but the cashier insisted that we only paid for the night tickets so the gift certificates were not effective at day time. They refused to contact the cashier last night, and refused to issue a refund for the charge last night.I should never have driven two hours from Montreal to try skiing at Ski Bromont. It was my first time in Canada, and the experience was very disappointing. I am disputing my credit card for this fraud charge.
I loved the amount of lifts and many 'sides' of the mountain. Everything was great, I much prefer Bromont to Tremblant.
Amazing mountain biking and great hilking with great views from summit. Winter is a must with great ski.
Lots of summer and winter activites. I am from Richmond, BC. and spoiled when it comes to mountains and all the activities that are available.
Booked a downhill bike on line along with amour for a two day visit. the team were happy to change the brakes over to suit my backwards Aussie style. The bike was ready to go when I arrive Saturday morning. I got a puncture on my first run of the day and had to walk most of the way back down the hill. The changed the tube for me as quickly as possible. told me that people don't normally get flat tyres on the mountain and said the first two puncture were free. I bought a couple of tubes as insurance against walking again. i got another two flats in the course of the day but when i went to buy two more tubes on the Sunday they exchanged the Saturday ones (with pinch flats) for new tubes. I think this was a combination of running small 2.1 tubes in a 2.5 tire and a 115 kg rider. Anyway, the trails are awesome (even at the end of the season), the lift lines were quick and the staff were helpful. would have loved to spend more time there. there is a huge variety of trails for all levels (saw all types of riders having a go - including middle aged men in chinos and business shirts). The trails are well signed and there maps are readily available. If only there was a resort like this the same distance from Melbourne. Would love to go back.
My boyfriend and I have been getting Season Passes at Ski Bromont for four years now, and we don't plan on stopping any time soon. Only about 1-1.5 hours from Montreal (depending on traffic), it is easily one of the best ski hills in the area. There are many different passes depending on your needs (weekdays, weeknights, weekends, evenings, etc). The passes are very reasonably priced, the hills and runs are awesome and challenging for those of all levels. We have been going here for 4 years and each year they change the layout of the mountain and create new runs to keep us entertained! They even offer night skiing until 10pm. Whether you go in the morning, afternoon or evening, the runs are well-groomed and maintained. While the food at the hill can be expensive, there are many grocery stores on the way to the hill and lockers to store your valuables. Great value for the price! :)
It's my second year buying a season's pass at this ski station and I love it!! The best part is the night skiing which fits in just nicely with my work schedule. My friends and I hit the slopes at about 7pm and ski until closing at 10pm! We also ski on weekends. Our pass lets us ski Mon to Fri all day (except during the Holidays and March break - ski after 3pm) and weekends after 3pm. The trails are well maintained and there are many to choose from (155 in total)!!Even when the parking is full, you end up finding a spot and have a few different parking lots to choose from. Another fun night is the "Nuits Blanches" when you can ski until 2am :-)Thanks Ski Bromont, until the next season!
Well groomed slopes at all time of the day and evening. Best prices compare to all other ski area in the region. Only ski slopes open in the evening 7 days a week.
Excellent ski resort with variety of terrain. The mountains were not very tall but it has a large skiable area. Good use of wooded area to ski. Lots of snow parks. No pressure to get up early to ski, as it opens until 10pm.I only wish the ski lifts could be a bit faster.
