I think that it is nice that Sherbrooke has its own Museum of Fine Arts but don't expect to have as many rooms and art pieces to admire as you would find in any other city. The place is structurally beautiful (it used to be a bank) and it is not an expensive visit so, on a gloomy afternoon when you have an hour to kill, you might enjoy it.
Just walking around town I came across this place. A good dirstraction during a tough training trip at head office. Was not expecting to find a place like this in Sherbrooke! The selection of exhibited artwork was quite diverse - not too keep on the modern normally, but it may grow on me....Accessible and was impressed to hear they have been there for over 30 years. Impressive to survive in these economic times of trouble (sorry about the cheesiness of that expression ;-)...If you are looking for something different to do, it's highly recommendable. But call ahead to check on opening times: 819-821 0215 - my experience with museums in Europe is that they are often closed right on the day you want to to. Either that or if you are in Paris, e.g. the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay are free on Sundays, so some serious crowds are to be contended with. Almost makes the entrance fee on other days worthwhile. Ha!
