Very interesting with lot of information. Very educational. The staff are also great!I cann't remember if it's a fee or not for the attraction, but it's highly recomendable!!
There actually were whales ....plenty of them ....and just out of season too .......peaceful and just magical!
Very educational, learned a lot about marine life in the area, kids loved it, staff very attentive and friendly, even arranged a private viewing of a documentary.
I really enjoyed the Marine Centre.Friendly staff and an unhurried atmosphere, coupled with my great love of whales and marine creatures generally, meant I was in my element!Nice audio visual display to start. As I am an English speaker I was given a laminated translation booklet of all the exhibits at no extra cost. The gift shop is great, with lots of lovely items at a reasonable cost.A must for anyone visiting Tadoussac.
The museum is very informative just before you go on your cruise to see the whales. The people who work there are very nice and they help you appreciate your visit.
The small museum has much information on marine mammals, especially whales. They have interactive displays and have many with both French and English. There is a great movie on how they are tracking and learning more about whales.
Bilingual staff, ask for an English book at the front desk. All profits go to whale research. Good movie and interesting displays, plus a great view!
This was a small but interesting museum. The naturalist who talked to us was especially terrific, sharing lots of information about these wonderful animals.
Little pricey but interesting and had interesting discussion with an extremely knowledgeable staff member. Quite enlightening. friendly and helpful staff.Worth the visit after whale watching.
Good spot to see whales, you can sit there for hours and hours as long as you have the patient and see whales, very nice view, good place to lear about mammals.
Perhaps good for families with kids to visit. Pricey for a small exhibit. The gift shop took a chunk of gallery space I thought. Embarrasing to see a parent stopping a kid from pulling a blue whale genitalia exhibit as he realized the cord just kept rolling out way past other whales. Otherwise skip this place if you have limited time in Tadoussac.
Everything you need to know about marine mammal life in the area. Good introductory video then plenty of very readable interpretation boards. We didn't have any with us but would be enjoyable for kids too
It was difficult to understand as we don't read French very well. It would have been helpful to have English translations.
The weather was awful and our whale watching cruise was cancelled, so we went to the interpretation center instead. Their exhibits were amazing and the English language guidebooks were a big help, as was the video in English. It was a little expensive to pay for parking and admission, but still we had a good time.
We went here on the advice of Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The centre is small but the exhibits were good. As our family were all English speaking we were given books that described each display in English. Each display had a letter and number on the bottom left hand corner that corresponded ton the book. My favourite display was of a narwhale horn that you were allowed to pick up and handle. Just a warning for younger audiences- one of the exhibits shows a movie of 2 male whales trying to have sex with a female whale. The display talks about the whales having penises almost 2 meters long. I had just watched the film and overheard two parents trying to explain to their young daughter what a penis was. Our only complaint of the centre was the movie - although the filming was interesting I have no idea what it was about because it was all in French. Sub-titles would have been extremely helpful.
