The cars are so well preserved and presented, I have never seen so many cars of this vintage in such good condition.Well worth a visit if you remember cars from this era, just loved the mini!
The cars on display are mostly from the 1960's onwards and have all been collected in New Zealand. Mostly British makes such as Jaguar, Ford, Morris, Rolls Royce etc. but all good to see in pristine condition after so many years. There is a small entrance fee that goes towards the upkeep of the cars.
This seems to be a young collection that will probably grow over time. From what we understand not all cars were on display but they just don't have the space. Lots of cars that most can relate to but it needs an exotic or two to headline the collection. Xk150 being the notable exception.
Very well worth the visit, very friendly enthusiasts running the museum. The cars are very squashed in needs more space.
I'm not a car person but found this most interesting. I like how they have newspaper articles about the owners above the vehicles.
Loved it, although it was quiet cold in the hangers where the displays are. Great for people into aeroplanes and history.
Visited here after our visit to the Aviation centre. Was unaware it existed. We loved it. So well organised and the man who greeted us was a delight! All the cars were amazing and they rekindled so many memories for us. We learnt to drive in a couple of the models and we hav owned quite a few of the others.A great place to visit!
This is next to the Omaka Aviation museum and is a good add on but it is worth a separate trip if you have time. It is just a collection of cars relevant to New Zealand with plenty of classic British cars and lots of Fords and Holdens.
Loved seeing all the classic cars, certainly well worth the visit. Very well set out and such a treat that the kids have free entry, they loved seeing them too.
wow - your eyes won't believe what is packed into this huge shed type building , with even more cars in the back garages!!! if you like or love looking and drooling over old cars , this is a place for you!!!
My husband took my 3 year old on a rainy afternoon when they both had cabin fever- I'm told it was a little disappointing from a car enthusiast's viewpoint, but the 3 year old loved it, he got to climb into and "drive" everything, so he was happy!
A wonderful collection of Classic cars, which sadly aren't displayed to their best due to lack of space.Nevertheless it's well worth a visit and entrance fees are very reasonable.I believe that plans are in progress to enlarge the display hanger so future visits will be even more enjoyable
Went to visit the Classic car Museum with my male enthusiast (me not being so enthusiastic) but I was pleasantly surprised that I very much enjoyed it. $10 per adult to get in - reasonable price and a wonderful greeting. Loved the cars on display and prompted lots of stories between myself and the Englishman of what we had done in the various cars in our younger years. I thought they were well set out and lots of newspaper articles and information on most of them. The Englishman was enthralled and absolutely loved it. Wheelchairs and buggies could get around the main walking area but not to everything. The Englishman had a great chat with the owner who was exceptionally knowledgable and he walked out beaming.it is next to the Omaka Aviation Museum so worth a double visit - nice coffee and cake and outdoor seating if its a lovely day which it usually is in Blenheim
A wonderful display of original cars from the 60s through to the 80s. All original from locally assembled british and australian companies
Found Omaka Classic Cars by accident as I visited the Aviation Centre next door.By virtue of the Cook Strait ferry running late I had time to visit Omaka Classic cars & the Heritage Aviation Centre. One mans car collection form the fifties to the eighties. All registered & running, a living display.Needs more space like a lot of museums but a staff member advised me that is going to happen. This guy was very enthusiastic, only wish I had more time on the day.
