Brilliant Library, well centrally located. Good lay-out, has all you would want, with good discounts using gold card, and lovely roomy atmosphere there, good seating areas and good cafe.
The library is full of comfortable nooks to sit and lose yourself in a book or magazine. It also has a good collection of graphic novels. It is accessible despite being over a number of floors. The best kept secret is the cafe on the first floor (NZ 1st floor, US 2nd floor), which can also be accessed from a flight of stairs at the rear. Lots of tables, yummy snack foods and really good barista coffee. Come for the books - stay for the coffee.
You can loose yourself for hours in this library. There are lots of desks if you want to study, there is a children's section which often has activities on such as an author reading their book to the kids. You can hire out DVD's and the best thing of all is the delicious cafe. Canteen style - you slide your tray along and choose from cabinets but the food is good.
like the large open space. It also had a legal centre where people could visit for advice..open coffee shop...loved the buzz..good lifts and good electronic escalators..
We are very lucky to have such a wonderful library in wellington city! It's HUGE!!It has an amazing children's area, tonnes of books, a really nice cafe and I regularly hire out movies from the DVD/bluray section which has allot of classics as well as new releases. Very helpful staff as well :)
This zoo is great for children because its not too big and not too small! There is a great mix of animals from Little Blue penguins, to Pygmy Marmosets to giraffes (we were able to feed the giraffes). There are many short talks, as well as interactive presentations, by employees who are genuinely interested in the welfare of the animals. The zoo is well maintained and offers a fantastic view of Wellington from the picnic area. Fun family outing! Family pass $50.
Comfortable, lots of stuff, free internet to work on nice desk. Calm place and good staff to help you.Three stairs to find what you need.
Great place to visit. A must see visit located near art gallery and close to waterfront. Free internet, lots of quiet seating and lovely full shelves to browse.
Funny things are libraries .... often fill of old fuddy duddys and this is no exception . Whilst sitting upstairs having an adequate coffee I was struck by how spread out the place was .... All for a few books. In today's digital world it all seems to be so unnecessary
Good location in the city, well-organised book collection, space for reading in armchairs and desks for study. Special zone for small childrenNice affordable cafe on the balcony
I was quite disappointed with the book collection because the best books are always on loan and if you try to reserve it you must pay a fee which I think defeats the purpose of a public library. However, what I like about the library is its music and movie collection and they recently dropped the prices to rent. Its collection includes hard-to-find classics, arthouse cinema and foreign films. Worth a look!
Quite a big library with a good range on offer. The library website is useful. I particularly like the ebooks and audio books that are so easy to download.
Living in the country I miss a library and this is my ideal library. I could spend hours here. The staff are just wonderful and so helpful. the café is ok as well. recommended especially if the weather is poor.
This library is very well laid out, except for the guide map on the second floor which seems to be in reverse? If I have time before meeting someone I like to wait in the library and let serendipity take a role in deciding what books I will look at. I like to read the oversized books in the library rather than carrying such heavy items home and back again. I'm not so keen on sitting on some of the bench seats as homeless people snooze there.
i went there to relax and read some books. it did the job and selection was ok, i guess it looked a bit old and dated and needed a spruce up
