My grandkids would be in heaven if we just pitched a tent (which is not allowed) and stayed for their whole holiday with me !! Lots to keep kids occupied for hours. Take towels in the summer because the water toys will be available and I defy any parent to stop their kids getting wet !!

Brillant, lots for the kids to do here. Great for family barbecues, picnic lunch or just and ice cream while the kids play.

it is a large park for kids you can spend the whole day there includes train ride is on the banks of the wanganui river , it is a very unique park i love it

The 8 year old's eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw all the painted concrete animals. Me? ... well ... not really my thing. So I sat and read a book while she ranged over the full cast of characters. All kids under 10 will have a Field Day. I did like the position right on the edge of the river though & I did wish we were there in a weekend when the little railway was giving rides. It looked like a Lions or Rotary project from the 1960s. Cheap & cheerful.Also, the water wasn't spraying when we were there. No doubt that would also have got a big thumbs up from The Child.

This is a great place to freedom camp, plus great families if you have children, you wouldn't believe the playground equipment.

Space and lovely themes, with penguins, pumpkin, play equipment over a large area. On Sunday afternoon there is also a mini railway. Kids need to stretch legs too! Great for under 10 year olds.

Absolutely loved it! First time here but we had a great time and so did the kids. Going back to see it with the water going but definitely somewhere i would recommend

Great for the grand-kids we could have spent all day there the area is so large there is no issues with not being able to do something

So many thing for children to do. Great place along the river to run with the Puppies. Places in the shade to have picnics.

take the kids to feed the ducks while Dad watches the cricket. Talk to the cheeky parrots in the aviaries or just walk along the stream

As above, a wonderful attraction for Wanganui and the children love it. The park is always immaculately maintained, a credit to the local council.

A kids paradise, with loads to do for all ages, leafy and green with plenty of tables and BBq's for picnics.

A great place for active families. Lots of space for free play, gas barbecues, skateboard area and at the far end there is mini-golf and car track. It is set beside The Whanganui River Walkway.

All freshly painted. Plenty of room to run around. Shame the train wasn't running. Was drizzling so the pumpkin was a handy place to eat lunch

Drove past this park today and had to stop. Love it! Full of imaginative attractions including Fred Flinstone and The Old Lady who lives in a shoe. Would definitely borrow nieces and nephews to visit this park again.
