I visited Hamilton gardens about three weeks ago. They are very good. As you can see by photos the gardens are beautiful and interesting and have a huge array of plants, bushes and trees, native and imported varieties. The themed gardens are interesting as well. I missed seeing the Rose garden as it was closed for a private function but I saw some through a gap in the shrubbery and saw that it looked beautiful as a rose garden should. I was there for about two hours but need to return to see the rest of the gardens. Being able to see the Waikato River is a plus. There good facilities for food and toilets. Nice and clean.
The most beautiful gardens. We all were amazed with all the different garden themes & we enjoyed it so much we returned again a few days later. A memorable experience
Good variety of gardens, well planned and well kept,. If you are in Hamilton you must visit here. There is something to interest all ages; you will need a good half day to visit, and I guarantee that you will want to go back. It really is as good as the reviews say it is.
We were surprised that we had not heard about this one. All gardeners must go there if your visiting this part of New Zealand . The various collections or themes are wonderfully diverse and contain some good ideas. Beautiful vistas by the Waikato river, easy to get to and the coffee was good too.
Friendly staff, a very good variety of gardens and flowers. Well kept with informative staff. The cafe was not expensive, had outdoor seating without much of a view, but was reasonably priced.
A nice park with a lot of different historical gardens. Inspiring, relaxing, meditativeand beautiful.
Gotta go here this is an awesome place we are an older couple with no children & loved it, but it is an absolutely ideal spot for couples, families & for those with Children of ANY AGE.The Free swimming area there is just unbelievable & the Gardens are just sooooo beautiful & diverse - absolutely loved this place
Stopped off on our way back from Taipou Lake to Aukland and found a surprising oasis of calm and tranquility. the different areas were a pleasure to visit and the bird and insect life was a joy to watch especially the butterflies. Despite the number of people there it was easy to find some restful places to relax in. worth a visit
This is the second time we have visited here, the first 4 years ago .It actually covers a large area adjacent to the lake with a concentrated international display area.. Two new "rooms" have been added. Can't peak too highly of this attraction and also a lot of the management is done by volunteers. We have visited a lot of gardens in out travels, this is up with the very best. Allow plenty of time to walk around and even take your lunch.
My wife is a gardening fanatic and she loved the range of gardens and planting here. I enjoyed the Award gardens especially the Indian Garden. They have won many awards and it is easy to see why. Well worth going to Hamilton just for this.
These are beautiful gardens and there is always flowers out at all times of the year. Very well kept grounds . Great place to visit and a good cafe with good food . Great picnic spot too.
Very pleasant gardens and small lake make it a lovely place to visit. We enjoyed our lunch in the cafe
These gardens are amazing , would recommend everyone to visit , whether you live in Waikato or just visiting. We spent two hours here and would have love to spend more time but we were on a schedule. Amazing , beautiful , these words don't explain the visual treat.
