We used this on Boxing Day 2014. It's absolutely the best way to go around the Rock because a) it's not too hot, b) it doesn't take too long and c) the flies can't keep up!. Staff were friendly and efficient and couldn't have been more helpful. We hired 3 adult and 2 children's bikes. All were easy to ride, with coaster (pedal back) brakes, so easy for young and old. We had plenty of water in the baskets provided, and also there are bottle holders on all the adult bikes. We set off at about 8.30am and made it round comfortably, with several stops (and 2 children and a Nana) within 2.5 hours, well before the 3 hour hire limit was up. A couple of sections are a bit sandy and were quite hard going for the youngest and oldest of our group, but if you get off and push, it's only really a couple hundred feet and then you're back on a good path again. It was brilliant, and highly recommend it!

As the heading says, I do not have the words to describe how magnificent this experience was. The wonderful assistant Angela was amazing and again words cannot describe how blessed we feel to have had this experience. Definitely the best way to travel around this amazing place, with bike racks perfectly located in certain places, enabling you to enjoy the more intimate areas. We highly recommend anyone who is visiting Uluru to get some bikes and experience it for yourself as you will NOT be disappointed. The only way to do the base tour. An experience we will cherish always. Thank you Angela again, you're a STAR! Keep up the awesome work:)

Stumbled across the bike hire arriving at the Rock and decided to give it a go instead of walking. What a good decision it was! Not only is it faster and probably easier, we could see more, the momentum provided a breeze, and the flies couldn't keep up! If you think you'd enjoy using the bike to get around, do it because you will!

We headed out on the Uluru express at 7.30am and took off on our bikes by 8am. It was a really hot day around 40 so you wouldn't want to start any later. It was a great way to see the rock, we rode around, stopping at spots and in our own time. I think in the heat we would have got sick of walking. The rock is amazing. We finished around 11am. Highly recommend it, service was great.

Great way to see Uluru. We hired bikes and rode around the base of Uluru, much quicker than walking and an enjoyable way to see it. Great staff at Outback Cycling, very friendly.

I loved it. Easy riding, excellent comfortable bikes and I suspect we were the envy of some of the walkers we ( carefully) rode around. We were offered baskets to put our things in which was very handy. Stopping where you wanted was a great way to indulge the senses with views or just giving space to the awe of this magnificent place. Go early to avoid crowds and heat.$30 per person for 3 hoursHighly recommended.

Track was perfect for riding, early morning in Nov was fine. Thanks a lot Jerry, especially for finding us to return our water bottle that night!

Jerry was great. 3speed easy bikes. A little sand at the start but then easy riding. We stopped a lot for photos and made it around in 1.5 hours so we did a second trip around really fast non stop (except water). Was not too hot between 7.30 and 10am and we were well hydrated so second time around we stopped once for water. Highly recommend this your. No guide necessary.

This is a fantastic was to see Uluru. The guy running the business is nice and friendly. It is great to be able to stop and admire the rock close up and wander around the parts the interest you. Plus you can take heaps of photos of different areas of the rock. The only thing was that apparently the park requires that cyclist travel anti clockwise (as pedestrians travel clockwise) but if you are doing this early in the morning, you end up on the sunny side at the end. Would make more sense to do the trip clockwise and do the shady side last. Definitely do this as early as you can because it does get warm towards the end.

Get in early in the morning to avoid the heat! We had a great time and were able to easily get around in well under the 3 hour hire period. The track is easy riding and the bikes are in great condition. You don't need to be an athlete or be particularly fit for this ride. It's about 14 km including the Mala track which gets you from the Cultural Centre to the base track. Our only complaint was that upon returning to the Cultural Centre car park after 2 hours ( it's a 3 hour hire) the operator came and collected one of the bikes. He didn't ask if we were finished and it was exactly 2 hours since we had started so we had another hour to go.This meant we weren't able to return to the rock and see any of the highlights or areas we enjoyed.

We really enjoyed our bike trip round the rock, we went pretty slowly with plenty of water and photo stops and it took just over 2 hours so you can really take your time. The bikes were comfy, clean and well maintained. Only problem is getting there if you don't have a car - we asked around the resort and the only option was the Uluru express - costing $60 per person, a massive rip off as it's a 20 min drive. This is not the fault of the bike company, the guy told us he had tried to set up a combo deal but the bus people were more interested in ripping people off! We hitch hiked and easily got a lift there and back but this might not be an option for some people, which is a real shame as it was such a great experience! Thank you Outback Cycling!

Comfortable and well maintained bikes and clean helmets, convenient location, good payment options and no annoying paperwork or deposits required. There are bike racks located at the key sidetracks around the rock. Tag-along and kid seats are available too, but it does pay to call ahead to reserve these. Go early and allow the full three hour booking to do it thoroughly at an easy pace for the kids. Kids younger than about seven will probably need the tag-along as they may be too short to ride the kids' bikes, but even if you have not used one before they are very easy to get used to. You are advised to go anti-clockwise against the flow of pedestrians. The first half of the journey involves some narrower tracks, patches of soft sand, and lots of photo stops and areas to explore, but you make up a lot of time around the second half where the track is wide and hard and there are less reasons to stop. We did the ride twice in the week we were there and would not hesitate to do it again with our three kids aged nine, six and four.

I was thinking I could only walk a short way using crutches around Uluru and was able to hire a bike to cycle around the base! This was a fantastic way to go around the base of the rock. The height of the seat was adjusted and I was able to test ride prior to the full hire! I could take my time and use their mobile if I needed assistance. Everyone is given a map and the mobile number. The ride is mainly flat and some sandy areas during the first section of the cycle. There were bicycles for families including tag along and seats. Helmets were supplied as part of the hire.

A great way to get around Ayers Rock and get a bit of exercise as well. Bikes were well maintained and comfortable. At $30 for 3 hours there was enough time to stop at all the points of interest and take photos or just take in the beautiful sights. Water was available en route but I'd recommend taking your own personal supply.

My wife and I cycled around the rock and found it most enjoyable. You cycle anticlockwise against the foot sloggers. Some of them were struggling and appeared not set up properly with footwear , water etc. Our only concern is that the bike helmets are not cleaned properly between different riders.
