This is a fantastic, a piece of Australian History, relics of the bombing of Darwin during WW2.Heaps of Japanese Zero parts on displays. Centre attraction is a full size B 52 bomber donated by the USA government. If you miss this whilst in Darwin you have missed a great part of Australian History and a great Aviation Heritage Centre.

Fascinating display, the B52 is just enormous. Lots of old planes to view, and interesting films to watch.

Visiting the Aviation Museum brought back many memories. I spent 30 years in the aviation industry and seeing the variety of aircraft was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the B52 Bomber and the Ansett memorabilia

A B52 Bomber on display, inside? Yep, they can do that, along with other aircraft and wrecks of aircraft that were shot down in the Darwin area during WW2. It is my understanding that this center is run by volunteers and as such it is very well done. There is plenty to see with regular screenings of documentary type videos to help explain what it is you are looking at. I have also found the volunteers more than happy to share what they can about what is there. Just be aware that the display hanger is not air conditioned so take water with you. It can get mighty hot. All in all a worthwhile place to visit.

Excellent displays and very informative panels. Take time, but try the cooler weather, it can get quite warm inside. The gift shop has a wide variety of low cost souvenirs, I would recommend you get any of your Darwin gifts for friends/family from here. Staff a very friendly. small entry fee.

Loved it, very interesting plenty to see. Lots of aircraft covering many many decades. Loved the Tiger Moth. Very historically interesting as well

Took my dad and SO here; both plane fanatics who had a great time. Having now been twice I THINK i have seen everything - but I am probably wrong. There is so much to see in this old hangar that you really need to take your time.I would suggest going in the dry; my visit in December was boiling hot and the hangar isn't air con (at the time I wasn't used to the heat/humidity and had to escape to the aircon at regular intervals) the second visit at easter was much nicer.Awesome place for plane geeks.

I visited here whilst working away. The museum is in a great location, just off the Stuart Highway and very easily accessible.There are a number of great exhibits which pay homage to the air history of Darwin and broader Northern Australia.It was great to marvel at the B-52 and it's sheer size and payload capacity. Even better is the F-111 Pig which holds a special place in the hearts of many aviation enthusiasts.The attraction fee is very low and there is a small gift shop on site.I highly recommend this museum to those visiting or living in Darwin.

We were told by the locals to come here and we weren't disappointed. You walk into the huge hanger and are met by such an assortment of flying machines. Even the old control panels in the back corner were amazing to see, glimpse of the computer age way back then.

With Snoopy in a jet fighter and an enormous B52 you can't go wrong! We all enjoyed a good look around here. Lots of planes and a couple of helicopters. I liked the F111 and the Mirage. Also intrigued by the old fridge made into a Qantas jet. Lots to look at and a good little shop/cafe attached.

I visited this museum about 6 years ago and again recently. Not sure what the museums agenda is but I can't say I was all that impressed second time round. yes they have added a F111 but what is with all the ex civilian buckets of rubbish doing clogging up the place. Maybe management need to grow some balls and say no when the local small aircraft companies in Darwin want to dispose of there useless junk for free. Do they really think people are interested in that??? The opposite to evolution is regression and suggest this is the appropriate word to describe things at this venue.

Was in complete awe of the b52 bomber. Displays were well presented and informative. Well worth the entry fee. Could spend hours here.

worth a look if your in the area, not over priced and have a good range of old aircraft. Great for kids

This is a great place to immerse yourself in a little bit of history. Well priced and great for the kids.
