Very helpful staff and interesting literature, etc. in an ideal location, as is appropriate for a town in the heart of the Riverland
Lucy at the Info Centre had a great knowledge of the area and its attractions.Good advice on wineries and eateries.
This visitor's centre is in a very modern building shared with a restaurant on the other end. It is right on the Murray more or less in the centre of the town. See the 'Wall' under the mighty bridge and take a drive around the river. Don't forget the War Memorial!
Apron visiting the centre we were greeted by Ella who was an amazing source of information. We hesitated visiting the area not knowing what it had to offer, but Ella quickly informed us of all the local attractions, wineries, food stops and even children's activities. I couldn't Speke more highly of the centre. She also gave us maps and and called different locations ensuring us they were open. If you go to the centre, please ask for Ella, she was amazing. A real asset to the info ration centre.
Very helpful, friendly staff able to answer questions and offer suggestions - free map of city. Lovely gifts too.
Probably the most helpful visitor centres we have used. They offered to call tourist attractions and wineries for us to make sure these places were open. Very knowledgeable and a credit to their employers and the area.
The staff were pleasant and helpful, it's only a small place, and there isn't a vast amount to do in Berri so it's probably as good as it could be.
Hi Mareea! Thanks for posting your concerns on trip advisor, and thanks for choosing Berri to visit. The Visitor Information Centre was in fact open and staffed standard opening hours on the first weekend in June, Saturday 9am-2pm, and Sunday 10am-2pm. A large number of the cyclists and their supporters made it into the centre to find out what to see and do around the area. If we were closed while you tried to visit, we would be interested to know what time of the day you wanted to visit, in order to review our opening hours. We wonder whether you are referring to the cafe adjoining the building, which has been untennanted since early in the year. A new tennant is expected in the next month. The cafe and visitors centre are separately operated. Regards, Ella WinnallCommunity Services Co-Ordinator
The staff here are good in the knowledge of the area however was a bit annoyed that I bought produce from them only to find the next morning at the Farmers Market it was a lot cheaper!
The girl that we had was extremely helpful with loads of ideas and places for us to see and things for us to do. The berri information centre is the best information centre that I have ever been to.
The young lady at the Information Centre was an angel who could not be faulted for her knowledge and service!
Berri has a lot to offer and the different attractions in the area gave us a wide variety of wineries to vist, pleasant drives, and beautiful senery
We went to the Berri Tourist Information Centre to buy a National Parks Pass only to find they dont sell them there. We were told by the friendly staff we would have to go to The Dept of DPI for that! It makes sense that The Tourist Info Centres sell these as that 's where tourist go! Then we asked them where we could top up our caravan tanks with some water only to be told " Nowhere, as water is very scares in SA " They said maybe if we buy fuel from a service station, they might give us some water! NOT GOOD enough! If SA want the travellers, they need to look after them better as we also put lots of money into the local shops!
