We stopped for lunch . Lovely pizza and iced coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. Family run business which is nice. Friendly staff. Good service
Bella Lavender is a family owned and run business and they could not have been more friendly and welcoming to our group of 13 mature aged ladies. It was very interesting to hear about how they grow and process the lavender and the Devonshire Tea was very good. Their gift shop was full of interesting, original and reasonably priced items and most of us ended up doing some Christmas shopping there, much to our surprise!
Being a local I may be somewhat biased, but the wood fired pizza's cooked and served here are absolutely fantastic. With plenty of choices, and some new pizzas even added to the menu since I last visited. Not only is the food amazing, there is plenty of trinkets for sale in the store from lavender products to jewellery, there is even a put put course which you can play on for a few dollars. While Bella Lavender can be a little tricky to find if your not familiar with the area, it is truly worth your time to visit.
Bella Lavender was recommended to us by a local when we said that we were going to have pizza for dinner. This place is a little off the Sturt Hwy but easy to find. Apart from great pizza (wood fired), they have what looks like quite a good menue. They also sell jewellery and other bits and pieces (all at reasonable prices. We didn't have time to wander around the grounds but we will be back for a longer visit on our next trip to the Riverland.
We visited with friends. My wife and I came earlier in 2014 and were impressed so decided to take our friends to experience it all. The owner Mario was pleasant and chatty as always and very passionate about the place and the Riverland. His son David is now with him introducing Wood oven pizzas. We had antipasto platter, woodoven pizza, cream katifi and lavender scones and icecream. The pizza was the best we have ever had in this country with the highlight being the base just like it is in Italy. The place is peaceful surrounded by the lavender rows, olives and vineyards. A must if you are visiting the Riverland
Here is a great place if you are after home-style food and friendly service. Sit outside on the porch and look over the lovely lavender field or watch the kids play a round of put-put golf while you sit and enjoy a beautiful home made cake, pizza or pasta. Parking is easy and to get there just follow the signs from the Sturt Hwy near the Berri Estates (now Accolades) Winery, it's not far off of the main road. Watch out for dinner specials on their Facebook page to find out what's coming up next and be sure to book as these nights are popular with the locals. There is also a small range of gift ware in store from some local artists which is lovely to check out while you are there.
This is my first visit since the new oven has been installed. The renovations are great. As usual the food is of very high standard. I am a regular & will continue you to be.
Struggled to find this place at first. Cafe was lovely ...and 5 years the lavender bushes will be too. I was a little disappointed to be honest but happy to visit again when plants are bigger. Compared to other lavender places we have visited ...this is small
A visit to the Riverland is not complete without sipping excellent coffee and enjoying a delicious array of treats, including gluten free choices, at Bella Lavender Estates. Winkie is home to this delightful gem of a restaurant, one that I have visted a number of times, and hope to again. The lavender products sold are of high quality and perfect for gifts. Treat yourself to afternoon tea with friends.
This is a beautiful location in the Riverland. A very quiet and relaxing lavender farm and cafe. We had a variety of cakes made using lavender and was very tasty. Many of the locals were there as it is a regular place for them to relax with friends. It was also enjoyable walking in the gardens. The owners are charming showed an interest in all the customers.
This place was in the middle of no where but what a surprise. We were greeted by Mario who is the owner, who gave us a little history of the farm. My husband and I ordered the lavender scones, which were delightful. We also had a go at the golfing circuit in amongst the lavender which the kids loved. Mario was full of information about the lavender and the area. A really nice place to visit, highly recommend.
Just love lavender and this garden was a picture, we also enjoyed coffee and cake and were able to buy gifts to take home from the delightful choice of locally made crafts.
beautiful outlook and had a little putt putt they also had a little jumping castle for the kids. There was also a little rotunda in the middle of the lavender for you to enjoy your cuppa.
A small but worthwhile place to visit. You can smell the lavender before you get there! Wander around the lavender beds and then be refreshed by the lovely home cooking. If you're lucky you will see Mario demonstrating how the oil is exctracted from the flowers...
