This place if really good. Has many different brews and their display is really good. Lots of things to buy. They also serve coffee for those than don't drink beer. Good outside area to sit.
Who doesn't love those small breweries rich in atmosphere and serving great beers. There are quite a few places like that around Adelaide and it's one of the better ones. The beers were very nice, just wish they had a better way of tasting them (tasting plate/menu anyone?) and bigger selection of snacks/foods.Recommended.
Enjoyed a few tastings of the beers. Great location, sat on chairs out front of pub- very nice. Beers great, wine, tea and coffee available for the non beer drinkers. Good stop
Stopped in to taste the local brews and was very impressed with the layout. Great to sit in that old shed amongst the working machinery whilst tasting beer. The beer tasted great and we bought a few to take with us, very interested in the inaugural Whisky bottle offer too. Will definitely call in again next time we are in the area.
Spent an hour or so in the brewery and tried each of the beers. They only have 4 different beers ranging from a pale to a heavy stout but they are all lovely. They also do a couple of different beers throughout the year and also a 2 different strength "Moonshine" spirits which we didn't try. The brewery is in a renovated railway building and you can see the whole brewing setup inside. There is seating inside and out with a fantastic view over the water. The staff were friendly but I did feel they started packing away the outdoor area a little early. Overall would definitely go back.
I am not a beer drinker but hubby is & as a local residents we often have visitors from town come down to visit - so we suggest we go here - especially after visiting the wharf markets on thw weekend .The men always enjoy trying the different brews. It is lovely sitting outside on the deck on a warm summer day with a cold drink & many families bring their children & dogs along. They also have nice hot pies available for purchase.
Great setting on Goolwa Wharf & the in house brewed beer is tasty. but the place closes too early in the afternoon which is a shame...
This little brewery had a lot of great flavours to try and I really enjoyed all the tasters that I had. My only problem is that there was no food and nothing really close by as it's right on the Goolwa station. For responsible service of alcohol you should be able to get a few little snacks, even a bowl of hot chips would be good. Lovely atmosphere though and great service.
Really good experience! A fantastic spot to sit and enjoy a cold beer with a view. Excellent beer and a good selection. Will return!
When wandering lost, hungry, and despondent in the less-than-bustling metropolis of Goolwa Beach, we thankfully happened upon this brewery tucked away on the dock just off the main street. Being from the Pacific Northwest, we have no shortage of delicious craft beer in our lives at home, and were finding the selection in Australia less than stellar. Our small group managed to easily test each of the 6 beers they had on the menu, and every one was a winner. By far, the best beer they had on tap was Truffles, the chocolate-bourbon porter. We came back three consecutive days for a taste. We even talked our surf instructor into giving us a ride back into town by promising to buy him a couple of pints, but the deal was only valid at this brewery. Fantastic beer, by far the best we had in Australia. You should go.
Great little brewery sitting pretty much on the banks of the Murray River where if you are lucky you can see the Paddle-wheeler Oscar W, dock. The beer is good and again if you are lucky you can see the plant in progress. You can get snacks or have a nice coffee while the shoppers in the family are visiting the many little boutique shops etc. The Exchange is working on a Whiskey - it looks like the raw spirit might be available to try just before Christmas. So watch out for market day at Goolwa and drop-in for a drop.......hope this updates the whisky situation
Took family from Darwin here, it is a full working brewery set in an old wharf shed down on the Murray river (good stop after Sunday markets in Goolwa) reminiscent of Little Creatures Brewery in Perth but much smaller and without the pizzas! I'm not a beer drinker, but the beer drinkers among us did a tasting, which they recommended doing but felt that nothing 'really stood out'. They do have wines available as well, i cant comment on this as was designated driver! There is interesting memorabilia throughout the brewery to browse whilst waiting on 'tastings' to be completed though!
Certainly a different environment to drink a beer in. Service was great. Lots of blokes here enjoying an ale or stout. They also make very good coffee, and serve wine, for those who don't partake. Check out the Whiskey which is on its way soon.
Dropped in on a sunny friday afternoon to this quaint place. An old warehouse overlooking the water with a working boutique micro-brewery. The pick was the outside seating area with a cooling breeze and a few cooling brews. The pick of beers is limited but we tried the tasting glasses for most and found them to be very good and refreshing. When you liked a particular one a pint of same quickly followed (because I wasn't the designated driver) !! Wasn't the cheapest I've visited but with the snack menu , the ambience , friendly staff and laid back customers it was a pleasant way to laze a few hours away, will be back !!
An old wharf side warehouse that still looks decidedly industrial inside, beer bottling line in full view. A small selection of boutique beers with interesting flavours - worth a stop for a drink
