It was much better than I expected with long stretches of sand, blue water backed up by striking cliffs. Better than nearby Aldinga Beach this was a very pleasant stretch of sand and sea and with few people. Worth a visit.
This beach is an iconic Adelaide area beach. The sand is firm enough to drive a car on. Therefore picnics, surf boards and all equipment is close at hand. Arrive for breakfast, leave at sunset and have a marvelleous day. Always drive slowly and carefully because children roam and roam.
for an Australian it is a good beach but through the eyes of an Austrian it was a fabulous beach. The emptiness; lack of people, clear water and good swimming
Very convenient and easy to access beach - you could drive straight inside! Also very animal friendly, I had some great time with my dog here. He and my son absolutely loved Aldinga!
great beach for dogs to have a good run, in dog allocated section, drive to the spot and enjoy the waters edge, can get real busy on hot days, shallow waters quite safe for little humans
Adlinga and Sellicks beaches are both wonderful flat, clean, sandy beaches. Turquoise seas, and you can drive your car onto Sellicks beach
fantastic place for beachlovers can drive straight onto beach have a picinic there animal friendly also - great place for beach cricket
Aldinga Beach is one of very few you can drive onto and park for the day. Makes setting up for a day at the beach very simple.
Great place to swim relax take the family and close to shops and facilities. Take a packed Meal or purchase one and enjoy on the beach front. Good sights on the way to the beach. A great spot for the day to visit and have a free swim and enjoy nature.
I have lived Adelaide sixty plus years and this beach is the standout. Clean clear water but sadly about 40 kilometres from the city car and while a bus gets you there, a vehicle is best so you can make a day of the area which is very close to the wineries and some great places to eat. The Victory Hotel is terrific in the areaIf you have a family and want to drive the car onto the beach and have a great day out this is the place but be wary of an incoming tide.
Amazing views to the South to the headland, clean and clear water with waves that you can ride with a boogie board.
Best beach around! Beautiful water and views along the coast. A real gem without being too crowded! The waves were minor so safe for children too.
thoroughly enjoyed our visit here -easily accessed, very clean and well presented. liked the clean sand and water - though cold!
Aldinga Beach, otherwise known as Silver Sands, is a very wide beach in southern Adelaide.Have I been there? Of course I have! I've been there 4 times now. I will be going again with my cousins sometime this week. The beach is outstandingly fantastic! It has incredibly crisp and clear waters, flat white sand, hardly any see-weed, and your allowed to drive and park and camp on the sand with your car! You are only allowed to drive and camp on the beach if you have a beach pass. Aldinga Beach (Silver Sands) tops off Moana, Maslin Beach, and the other beaches up there. And far away? It's a beautiful drive! Only 45-50 minutes away from Adelaide, it's a lovely drive! I hope this review helps anyone out there travelling to Silver Sands!
Aldinga is one of the best beaches in Australia, you can drive on the beach year round, no major swells, current or rips so ideal for kids, clean and very very long!!
