We enjoyed playing this attractive course which provided a good variety of fairways which stretched our abilities at times, but thankfully no hills. The only distraction was the watering process which impeded our progress on a few of the fairways.

Loxton GC is a superb golf course located 8kms from the town of Loxton & presents a relaxed social atmosphere & perfect for golfing enthusiasts. Club members offer typical country hospitality whether you are playing golf or visiting the Clubhouse. The 18 hole course has been ranked among the Top Ten courses in South Australia, the Top 100 Australian country courses and the Top 40 Australian public access courses. The Loxton Golf Club plays host to a large number of tournaments each year which are strongly supported by golfers from intra and interstate.Established in 1951 the course has been progressively developed by Club Members from their own financial resources over the years. The course was laid out initially by members and then changed in 1963 after Vern Morcom, then the curator at Kingston Heath, was consulted for his design skills. In 1976 Brian Crafter from Adelaide designed 18 grass greens and most of the original greens still exist today. They are regarded by many top golfers as the best greens outside Adelaide for their consistent borrow and quality. Lush fairways provide a high standard playing surface all year, although, the course usually reaches its peak during the winter season. There are sand bunkers on 10 holes and a varied range of grassy mounds on the surrounds of most holes. The course has an abundance of mature Aleppo Pine, various gums and other shade trees lining fairways and surrounds of most holes. There are established practicing facilities situated near the clubhouse.The staff at the Loxton Golf Club are always ready to welcome visitors whether it be for a round of golf or just a drink on the deck. The view from the clubrooms of our 18th is just breath taking. Men's and ladies competition days are Wednesday and Saturdays between 9am - 1pm. Bar snacks are available and pies and pasties are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Meals can be provided for groups on other days by arrangement.Onsite powered caravan sites are available and are situated on the western side of the course with access to shower and toilet facilities. The Club is also pet friendly.
