minlaton chocolaterie

Well the chocolates are not inexpensive, which is to be expected for such delicious handmade delights, so it is only the price that stopped our group from rating it as excellent. But the hot chocolate is to die for - don't miss it!

This little chocolate shop has the best choccies in Australia (maybe the world). The coffee is beautiful too and it is a fabulous place to just hang out & have a great coffee with a couple of chocolates. There are only two disadvantages that I can see - one is having to decide which chocolates to have & the other is that the shop really is little which means that you sometimes have to wait for seating. Still worth the wait!

Fantastic chocolates and welcome quality coffee after days of swill around the area. Seems wasted on a dirt pit like Minlaton though.

Driving down Yorke Peninsula, we had stopped at Maitland for coffee which proved to be undrinkable. Almost didn't stop at Minlaton as thought we'd get more of the same. Couldn't believe our eyes when we spotted the Chocolaterie! The shop was beautifully presented an spotlessly clean. An impressive array of hand-made chocolates which could be purchased indicidually or in gift-boxes of various sizes which were then beautifully gift-wrapped. Reminded me of the chocolate shops I've seen in Europe. The couple who own the business were well-roomed and impeccably dressed; a nice change from the just-rolled-out-of-bed look we'd been seeing in many places.Great-tasting coffee too.Very popular with the locals; we visited twice and each time the shop was busy with people either buying chocolates on their way home or having a coffee and a chocolate in-house.
