离小镇15KM的地方有个HONEY FARM，值得推荐，如赶在下午5：00下班前抵达那里，可以免费品尝几十种蜂蜜，也可以带小孩参观蜜蜂是如何采蜜的，同时也出售各种蜂蜜和蜂蜜制品，价格适中。

I feel sad to see the negative feedback for Melita. I wonder if some of the children were behaving badly or customers double dipping in the samples???? We found the young lady very informative and helpful. There was a terrific array of product. This was our second visit and it won't be the last.Of course it is not a 'farm', the bees live in the bush! Don't let the Nay Sayers put you off.

I thought I was the only person being told off by the rude staff but now I know there've been others with similar experience. Nabbed for tasting their honey! Never have I encounter such rudeness and to a senior citizen too, I'm not a child!

Pretty fantastic selection of honey, however:- one of the women serving clearly had anxiety issues, as she was not friendly at all and didnt appear to be able to handle the influx of customers at the one time- no information as to the honey given - which is best for what, where it comes from etc- just a shop, no more (certainly not a farm that i could see)- they sell merchandise for children, yet are not particularly interested in having children around (just your money) - youre made to feel you cannot browse and take your time. There was no real pleasure in having a look around.I wouldnt bother going back in person, but will be purchasing their products online. If i knew of other honey vendors in Tasmania that had as good a range, id purchase from them instead.

I witnessed tourists being spoken to in such a rude way today. My husband and I could not believe our ears when the younger lady scooping ice cream verbally and racially abused a tourist in front of everyone. This proves that money is the only importance or then again maybe not because you just lost 2 more local customers. Roberts honey up the road is the best honey in Tasmania anyway and there's no racial abuse there! You'll be stung like a bee if you walk through melitas door!

Beautiful honey, great range for tasting and delicious ice cream. Overall well kept. Interesting to see the live hive and if you can take the time to watch the video.

This was a great find on our way back from Zeehan to Launceston via Mole Creek. Excellent honey of all varieties, great displays, interesting information and I even found the bees wax for my boots. We actually stopped for the honey ice cream which was great but walked out with lots of other stuff. Well worth a visit. Its free. Well done.

Staff are very much against children entering and tasting honey and very rude to them. They do however have a good variety of honey and lots of info. Is just a shop don't expect a farm

The Melita Honey farm was perhaps the cleanest and most tidy attraction on the Tasting Trail. There is plenty of information for children and also a great area where the bees can be viewed. However, the tasting area, staff and store are not child friendly. The people (particularly the man) behind the counter were not attuned to children which is a shame. It is more of a clean and tidy shop than a farm.

Not a farm at all. I visited the place with the idea to show kids how bees make honey. In the end, the very small glass case absolutely gave a totally wrong impression. They looked like a just a honey distribution shop. I highly doubt if the bees even extract honey on this farm. Or I think they may source the honey from super markets (not sure). The visit however will takes no more than 15min, with a bit of honey tasting.The good take away was availability of the lots of variety and variations of honey and honey based products.

A visit to the Melita Honey farm is a MUST.The decoration of the premises is outstanding with large bees on the ceiling guiding you through to the educational section where you can learn all about bees and how they make the honey and then you can view a working hive.The family run business is excellent in every aspect. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about bees, honey and honey by products. It is obvious that they take great pride in their family run business.They offer many different types of honey tasting and we bought three different types of honey at a reasonable price compared to the supermarkets. The honey tastes so fresh and the flavours are very different.Do yourself a favour and buy the homemade honey flavoured ice cream - many types to choose from and ours was absolutely delicious, especially on a warm day.The business also sells many different types of gifts from homemade soap to pencil cases decorated with bees and we loved the baby bee clothing.We ended up spending over an hour visiting Melita and loved every minute.

Great wet weather option. Lots of different varieties of honey. Live bee hive in a glass case that makes it a great educational experience for kids. Ice cream and nougat and also skin care stuff, all honey based. Will visit this place again if I'm back in this area

I always take my daughter to the honey farm when she's over from the mainland. She especially loves the chocolate truffle honey in hot milk. They now have a range of soap of which my daughter tried the medicated one as she has a problem with acne. Within a week there was a fantastic result. My daughter now shops over the internet. Fantastic service. Would get 5 stars if there was a coffee shop and toilets attached!

The honey farm is really 90percent shop with an area set aside with educational material and a glass beehive. I wouldn't have made a trip down specially to visit but it made a good stop along our drive down from Cradle. There's a wide assortment of honeys available for tasting including nutty, creamed and chillied ones. We liked what we tried and ended leaving with a bagful each. The ice creams were also really good.
