A fantastic visit to Curringa Farms while on tour thru Hobart, Tasmania. Super explanations of the ins and outs of the sheep business, a live shearing by the owner, tour of the family farm, and a Steak on the Barbie homestyle meal. The working sheep dogs steal the show, but you will also remember these hard working 6th generation farmers and the tour of the property. It was the highlight of the day that had to follow the Kangaroo Sanctuary and a spectacular visit to one of Tasmania's National Parks. It topped them all. Worth your time and money. Visit and learn about the sheep. . . you won't regret it.
My wife and I stopped here on a Princess cruise and it was a memorable start to a great holiday. This very well run farm is a pleasure to see. The sheep shearing was entertaining - the farmer was a really nice man and very informative. The buffet lunch was superb and the scenery was lovely. We went away from this place feeling inspired.
The place look like it has seen better days. The surroundings show some signs of neglect and it is possible that business has seen better days. If you are looking for some farm activities and experience , do try to prospect for other places
Fantastic spot with awesome views. We watched the weather change with mists rolling over Mt Field and rainbows over the lake. A great spot for couples!
Six of us stayed in the large cottage, very very comfortable. With the fire place lit the whole cottage was warm and inviting, everyone commented on how well they slept. Great breakfast hamper provided by our hosts and our only disappointment was we couldn't stay longer. Next trip will certainly include a couple of days at the farm
