Have visited a number of wineries in the region during our stay in Launceston and we feel this is one of the best winery/cellar doors if not THE best. From the lovely setting, to the super friendly and knowledgeable host, to the fabulous wines. It was a hard choice of which wines to buy. If we were staying for another 12months we definitely would have thought about joining their wine club. I cannot praise enough the host, she was so hospitable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wine. They also have tables outside where you can have a cheese/pate picnic (available to choose and buy in the fridge in the tasting room). We will definitely be back again. Thank you.
Some excellent and superior wines we tasted, we had rewarding experience. We purchased a good wine that had perfect balance of sweet, sourness and bitterness from alcohol.
Visited this winery as part of a wine tour, enjoyed the wine so much that we signed up to their wine club. The guys were at Taste of Tasmania festival and were every bit as friendly and interesting as expected.
This was our second winery that we visited in the Tamar Valley and it did not disappoint. The wine was lovely, the staff were very friendly and the pig just loved the apples. We had a great wine tasting and then we bought 2 bottles of white wine. On the way out we saw the "big pig" and fed it (unsure of the sex) some lovely apples.
My favourite winery that we visited. Our server was exceptionally bubbly and friendly, and equally enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the wines. All the wines were exceptional, but the arneis was my favourite. For a bit of fun the winery has a giant wine pig named 'pinot' who will sit on command for an apple!
From the winding drive up the gravel road this looked like a winner...yep! Very friendly staff and pretty extensive choice. Loved the TGR riesling and the Pooch and the Pig Moscato. The pooch was asleep on the floor and we fed Pinot the pig apples on the way out. Great setting and a great experience. Don't miss this one on the Tamar Wine Route.
9 of us "younger wine entrepreneurial enthusiasts" spent a wonderful afternoon trying wines, learning and satisfying the intriguing pig "Pinot" Cannot wait to go back and spend more time drinking the delicious wine and wondering the lawns in the sun. 10/10
Loved every minute of our tasting, feeding Pinot the Pig, and still loving our drop we brought home. Highly recommended!!
Good tasting ciders and wines but the highlight for me was meeting Pinot the pig, a celebrity in her own right after being featured in a book about dogs and pigs that live on wineries. We asked her to sit, then fed her a couple of apples. Very memorable visit. Ciders arriving at home by mail.
On our visit to Tasmania we travelled to Holm Oak winery while staying in Launceston after having some of their beautiful wines at the Stanley pub. On the drive into the winery there were beautiful dark grapes hanging off the vines which looked so beautiful. It was about 30 minutes drive from Launceston. It is a family run winery and we were warmly welcomed at the cellar door. I tasted the reds which were magnificent and my husband tasted the ciders. After a nice tasting and a couple of great purchases to take back home to Victoria we set off for a nice pizza at Rosevears on the way back to town.
Stopped after recommendation from friends. Bec was a great host and obviously a pretty reasonable wine maker! Loved them all, and especially feeding apples to Pinotdpig! Great variety and a nice touch with the cider as well. Off the track, but worth the stop!
Wow. On a recent trip back to my home state (living in europe) I decided to take my wife and my parents on a little wine tour in the Tamar Valley. This was the first stop and what a way to start. Lucky Dad was driving. We must have tasted at least 10 wines. I am not a connoissuer but do like a nice bottle of wine especially with some equally good food. The lady who showed us the wines was very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. I think we walked away with 4 bottles and I would have taken more if I could have fit them in my suitcase. Great to see Tassie producing such great produce and most of all with pride and passion. Always makes me proud of my home. Definitely recommend and will definitely return. Thank you
One of the best vineyards we visited in the region, fabulous Pinot noir and really exciting whites too. Not too pricey and high quality wines, very nice family business.Really recommend the experience, very friendly and helpful staff also helped a lot!
This place had a heap of wines TGR reisling the muscat and moscato that I love as well as 3 different ciders. It was in a well maintained cellar door yes a little off the beaten track but close to other vineyards so handy. Will return if in area.
Our wine waiter at the hotel strongly suggested this winery to taste. It is a bit out of the way, but worth it. The wines were very good, a tad pricer than others. Later we saw their wines at nice restaurants.
