This is a must see. Amazing collection and well laid out. Loved the movie about the history of the Snowy Scheme. We will definitely be back in the future to see what has been added. Well worth the trip.

We visited this museum in November, 2014, while staying at nearby Anglers Reach. The Museum is set out in three parts and gives a very good coverage of the Snowy Mountain scheme. We were particularly interested in the life history and reconstruction of the office of the director of the scheme, civil engineer William Hudson (A NEW ZEALANDER!!! -YAY) and the reconstruction of the very primitive huts/tents of the first workers on the scheme. They must have been very very strong people who put up with unimaginable hardships.A fascinating museum, well worth the $6 entrance fee. Very nice, helpful staff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

What a little gem. If you want to find out a lot about the Snowy Mountain scheme - this is even better than the visitor centre in Cooma (which isn't bad). They weren't open the day we arrived, but a phone call fixed that, and we enjoyed the 3 sheds filled with excellent paraphernalia from the Snowy construction. A must see if you happen to be travelling past.

The museum can be found across the road from the big trout and next to the bowls club. Adaminaby was one of the main centres during the construction of the massive Snowy River Hydro Scheme, and this museum has many artifacts and much information from that time. Entry is $6 for adults. Well set out across 3 buildings there are trucks, graders and personal items from that time. Loved the reconstruction of the workers hut, about 5 square metres of space with a window - must have been freezing in winter, and the surveyors tents. They show a very informative film that not only describes the reasons for the scheme, but also shows the actual work. The museum complements the other display in Cooma very well. You could easily spend a couple of hours watching the film and looking around, at the very least allow a half hour. Plenty of parking outside.

We visited this museum as a group, and found it to be extremely interesting & informative. It is relatively new, but covers the years of the scheme from 1949 -1974, and includes a 20 minute video which does a lot to explain the reasons behind the scheme and those who worked on it.
