Great golf course, fairways are better than some other courses greens, challenging course and immaculately presented, hats off to the green keepers they do a fantastic job.We stayed on the course in the new 2 bedroom apartments. The apartments were well appointed, very clean and comfortable.I am definitely going back again.
Meals available right through the day from 11am - my wife loves to eat at odd times.. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to provide what you want
The golf course is a par 73 with plenty of Bunkers especially onecalled Gallipoli its huge I would think the biggest in australia. the fairways have good width and greens are great, the clubhousehas a few pokie machines and is good for a quiet drink
Went to this club for dinner. Servings were large, to large for most women to wade through and even my husband had trouble getting through is meal. Hubby ordered the Fettucini Seafood and there was no skimping on the seafood. My Parma was much to large and to dry, the salad was very nice.
We travelled to Barham recently for a golfing trip with 5 other couples and stayed on site at the Barham Golf Club in their brand new 2 bedroom units. There are 4 units next to each other in motel style with car parking at the rear, but they are not at all like a motel inside. These are luxury self contained units. Each unit has 2 bedrooms, one with an ensuite, and the other has use of the main bathroom which is as good as an ensuite. In addition there is a lounge/kitchen with lounge chairs, dining table, and a basic kitchen set up. More about the kitchen later. The design of the units is very clever, as each unit has a large undercover outside area with table & chairs and a ceiling fan for those hot nights. From here you can sit outside watching the golfers and in the evenings the kangaroos on the course. Each bedroom has air conditioning and a wall mounted television, plus there is a tv in the lounge room. Three tv's in each unit; WOW! And if you have brought your own ride on golf cart each unit has a lock up cart garage (not big enough for a car). King size beds very comfortable. These units have only been open a month or so and were in fantastic condition. But there are some negatives. The kitchen is very basic and a bit disappointing if you intend to self cater. There is a microwave oven, toaster and kettle and that's about it. There is no oven or hotplate so if you want to cook any food it is almost impossible. And the communal bbq is about 250 metres away so it is not convenient to nip out and throw a snag on the barbie. We decided to have a group bbq and between all the units there were no bbq tools. Our room had no washing detergent or wash cloth. Minor details but avoidable with good planning and staffing. The kitchen problems could be easily overcome by installing a gas bbq for the use of these units, and providing better utensils. The golf course is great. We all enjoyed it and it was great for golfers of all standards. They have limited carts available so make sure you book these well in advance if needed. At the golf club is a Chinese restaurant but we did not eat there, opting one night to use their free courtesy bus in to town and eat at the Barham Services Club, which actually own the Golf Club. Typical club food at reasonable prices and we enjoyed it, even if service was very slow. Pokies here if that is your pleasure. Overall these new units are fantastic, and despite my complaints about the kitchen our group had a great time and loved staying here. I would highly recommend these new units rather than the old ones. I would certainly come back here again. Just need to play better golf!
The friendly, peaceful feeling and the local people. The mighty Murray River flowing through the centre of town is delightful.
We had a great couple a days playing on this course. There are some challenging holes with lots of sandpits and you can do a fair amount of tree hugging too. Over all we had a great time and the course was in great shape too, thanks
A late review but we've been coming back here for a few years now. It's our annual brothers golf weekend and we bring the kids. Last year their ages were 6 and 12 but this year we'll be taking the 3yo's making it a bigger group. Good thing about this place is they're child friendly, from playing golf through to the accommodation and activities. We stay in one of the 2 bedroom units and that's plenty of room for everyone. The golf course is great and there's plenty of room for the kids to have a hit as well. The pool area is ok, if a little chilly. But what i love most is the unlimited space around the accommodation area for general horsing around. Nothign better than a kick of the footy or a chip around (not on the course proper obviously) whilst having a relaxing beverage. There are never huge crowds or bus loads of lads. We have tried another location but have now settled on Barham for the annual trip. Can't wait for this year. Greg and Nat are great hosts. See you in October
Not a frown in sight, everyone that walked into the club house said hello, a very friendly club and a great golf course.
Everything about Barham was pleasant, from the friendly motel and the staff at the Country Club to the friendly staff at the bakery. Lovely little town, we intend to return to explore more of the surrounding areas.
Visited and played golf here and found the pro at Barham to be the best teacher of golf swing around.
Snack bar reasonable & challenging golf course. Blah - pokies though
