Deneliquin town certainly has some history to explore. History centre was great, food there was good too. The library and genealogical group were extremely helpful and to top it off we called at the Pretty Pine hotel for a drink on the way home - lot of history there.

Thought we would try Denny for a quiet long weekend away. The place is beautiful. A very quiet town so if you want a place away from the bustle it's perfect. A few good pubs in the town for a meal and a drink. If you have a boat or are into fishing plenty of opportunities to do both. It was a nice mini break. I think after more than a three days I would have become bored as there isn't a lot to do in the town itself. But loved my weekend away.

I travelled to the Pretty Pine hotel (approx. 12 Ks from Deniliquin) Its a lovely small country pub, with friendly staff, I ordered a porterhouse steak & vegetables with mushroom gravy, it tasted absolutely fantastic, I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Deniliquin

Absolutely love this town and have been coming here for many years. In particular, the Edwards River and its surrounds are beautiful. There are many places alongside both sides of the river where you can camp freely, right next to the water. Enter along the tracks behind the golf club and drive until you find a vacant spot. You can't light fires so bring portable cooking equipment with you. The river, whilst brown, is reasonably fast deep in spots and flowing with many good sandy beaches. It is also fantastic for fishing for Murray Cod, Yellowbelly and just clearing the river of the carp. It can be very hot in summer, so look for shade. This is a fishing paradise but also offers lots of fun canoeing, jet skiing, water skiing at McLeans beach. There are also caravan parks if you prefer and the town has good shopping and dining facilities. Great family fun.

Lots of history to see and explore. We drove the Cobb Hwy towards Hay and stopped along the way and visited all the long paddock sites.Deniliquin itself is a surprise. We loved walking the town centre and along the river walk.

Deniliquin is a very quiet place, except during the annual Ute Muster in October when it sounds like all hell can break loose. If you like the quiet life, might be best to avoid it then as it is in the peak of summer when temperatures regularly sit at 40 degrees plus.Still, that leaves at least nine months when it is a pleasant place to visit. The locals are friendly and there are some decent eateries, plus a few things to do in town. Right next to the Visitors' Centre is the Peppin Heritage Centre, a first-class local museum which is of a 'good size': not too small and (thankfully) not too overwhelming. Behind the centre is the Edward River, which runs through the centre of town and is home to some riverside walks, a nature reserve (the Island Sanctuary) with lots of birds as well as kangaroos, a beach and (apparently) some good fishing spots. There are said to be platypus in the river too. Excellent cycling country too as the landscape is as flat as a tack.

Unable to find the caravan park gps took us in the opposite direction. Otherwise the park was fantastic. We only spent the night there as we were passing through Deniliquin but would like to return for a longer stay.

its a small quiet town. We had a day trip to Echuca and only returned to the motel in the evening. We only stayed for a couple of days.

We had one night in Deni on recent road trip and enjoyed it. Stayed at Deniliquin Motel - excellent value, clean and neat (see separate review).Ate dinner at the Bowling Club. Haven't had a country Chinese meal for quite some time, and it was very very good. Had breakfast at The Crossing Cafe - again excellent (see separate review). I enjoyed a lap swim in the town pool. Liked the boardwalk along the riverbank. For local produce and crafts, visit the Naponda Store.

I live in alice springs I have recently gone to Deniliquin and found myself to be very depressed after a week I didn't feel the need to breath anymore. I do not recommend going to "deni" as there is nothing to do here besides rot

Deniliquin on the Edward River, or Denni as the locals call it, is a beautiful place. The River snakes its way through the middle of the town and we are told that you can sometimes see a platypus playing in the shadows of the beautiful gum trees. A delightful park with a natural waterway running through it opposite the shops is a great place for a picnic. Buy an award winning pie at the bakery and sit down to enjoy the birdlife as you eat. The Information Centre is located at the old school next door to the Peppin Heritage Centre which is well worth a look.A great place to stop on your journey to the outback.
