The attentive and passionate service matched with fantastic wine has definitely set this vineyard apart from others.HH Dalliance sparkling is AMAZING and deff worth a try. I found the bubbles and service much better than Peterson House across the road. I am disappointed we weren't able to go to dinner at Muse this time round, but definitely I will look forward to next time :)
This Winery is the Creme De la Creme of all in the Hunter! My whole family of 10 were looked after like royalty. A wine tasting to remember and our Host Rebecca has more knowledge about wine than google. This Woman is the Goddess of GrapesCheese platter & An experience like no other. Thank you Hungerford & Rebecca for making our family vacation the trip of a lifetime.A must see when in the hunter & ask for no one else other than Rebecca
This combines the best possible combination of wine/food experiences without a full-on degustation. The food samples were amazing and the wine combinations paired with these really showcased what is possible with food and wine. Rebecca hosted our experience and was absolutely wonderful in all regards, including an in-depth knowledge of the wines but for us importantly, the blending with the food. We learned much. The Hungerford Hill wines are excellent but if you are looking for the next level of experience, this is it. In fact, it's a must do when visiting the Hunter.
We only stopped at the Cellar door which is built to supposedly look like a barrel with a lid ( looks more like a spaceship!) The wine was very expensive and average in taste relative to bottle price. Nice cellar door setting though with some interesting metal sculptures in the outdoor seating area. Restaurant looks very nice however we did not eat there so cannot review the food.
As part of our anniversary weekend away we booked ourselves in to the Ultimate Tasting at Hungerford Hill.I can't recommend this highly enough. You get put in a private room with a great view. Glass of champagne on arrival. 8 carefully selected and delectable wines to match with your 6 delicious food bites made by the chef and then you are left to consume and enjoy the experience all within your own time. After the tasting we also received a glass of the mascato and muscat to try which was really just the icing on the cake and at such a reasonable price.I will recommend this to anyone who will listen but a word to wise. Make sure you leave your car at the hotel.
Great wine, taste a few first to see exactly what you want to have with your platter for lunch.Great service, and what a view/backdrop....
Love it!! The gem of the hunter valley! !epic tasting with the muse and fine wines, the old and new was a pleasure! !Staff are great, even had the pleasure of the boss and owner take our photo.
We arrived at Hungerford Hill and were instantly greeted by your wonderful cellar door team. We enjoyed the Epic Experience pairing wines with food and were hosted by Rebecca Irvine, who's knowledge of wine and food is second to none. Enjoying the day with friends we left with a new knowledge of wine and a crate of some of the best wines the Hunter Valley has to offer. Would definitely recommend any visit to Hungerford Hill. Thankyou for the wonderful day.
Rebecca was so enthusiastic, upbeat, helpful, and extremely informative. We could tell she had a real passion and knowledge of wine.
We have just walked away from a great experience at Hungerford Hill Wines.I would highly recommended the Ultimate Tasting. I believe it is great value for money at $60 per person we experienced 6 amazing tasting dishes prepared by Muse Restaurant and we also tasted 8 premium Hungerford Hill wines (we ended up purchasing some wines at the end of the tasting). We were looked after by Rebecca, she was very informative about the wines which we were tasting being beer drinkers she explained about the wines in a manner to suit our knowledge. Rebecca was also very informative about the food that was served as to how it was prepared she went over and above to making our whole experience pleasurable. Yes I will be telling my friend that this experience as it was fantastic. If your looking for something different then this is it it covers both tasting of food and wine. Thanks again for a wonderful day.
A beautiful winery with fantastic service! Rebecca was an absolute delight. It was refreshing to meet someone so passionate about wine. This is a place everyone should visit when at the Hunter Valley. We loved the wines we tasted with our tasting plate. The atmosphere was very relaxing and service from Rebecca first class.Thank you, we will be back and will be bringing our friends with us!!
Hungerford hill is one of the major producers in hunter, it has a pretty unique cellar door that looks like a space station, but Id say they're put a lot more emphasis on Muse (their kitchen next door) rather than the cellar door. It took my partner and I about 20/25 minutes to try two wines.. Tyrells has 3 times the amount of customers in there and they juggled us in and served around 10 wines.... so who gets the $$ in the end. It felt like Hungerford hill is in fear of giving away its wine.. if you're running a fine line then stick a tasting fee on so I can at least figure out which wines I want to buy. Head elsewhere
Rebecca was fantastic. She took the time to explain all the wines to us and stayed open for us. Best winery of the day. thank you. Kili girls.
Our recent visit to the Hunter Valley provided the ultimate experience when we visited the Hungerford Hill winery. Following an arranged introduction to Adrian Lockhart, wine maker for Hungerford Hill, my wife and I were provided with an experience of a life time. Our lovely host Rebecca, allowed us to enjoy wine tasting at its absolute best with a mixture of bite side food dishes complimented by some exquisite in house wines produced by Adrian. The hospitality and enthusiasm provided by the team at Hungerford Hill was exemplary and a credit to all concerned. We are looking forward to joining the team at the the Club dinner in Brisbane later in the year. The winery is very easy to find if you make you way down Broke Road, Pokolbin. Do not drive past this boutique cellar door. You won't be disappointed.Love your wines and look forward to seeing how the next few vintages develop. We can't wait to return for a visit. Keep up the great work. PJS Chapel Hill Brisbane
I had the pleasure of doing the Ultimate Tasting at Hungerford Hill on Saturday 28 June with a friend, whilst we were staying at the Hunter Valley for a long weekend. It was the best thing we did! The $60pp was well worth it.Rebecca made it such an enjoyable experience, with detailed explanations of the wines we had the pleasure of tasting, as well as the amazing food that was matched to them. Our stay stretched out to three enjoyable hours of tasting wines, understanding how they change with each dish and finishing off with three delicious liqueurs and some tea. It's definitely a must-do experience when visiting the Hunter. The pork and raisin croquette with black garlic aioli was one of the best things I have ever tasted and matched the Collection Tumbarumba 2010 Chardonnay perfectly. We took a bottle of the Museum Classic Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 away with us to enjoy with dinner, a delicious wine on its own and with food.YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE!
