I love going to Lewers for lunch. They have a different menu not your mundane type of food. we have never had a bad meal and have tried some different sorts of food. Excellent venue and the atmosphere is wonderful
Love this place have been many times. The atmosphere is brilliant as it is sort of outdoors. The food just wonderful and service is excellent,. Have taken grandchildren there 2-8 yrs and each one has loved it because of the garden. Then after you meal you can stroll through the Lewers Gallery very satisfying.
Excellent food, great service, amazing venue and the new owners are tryign new things all the time. I think they are doing drinks on a Friday night now, etc, which I'm sure will be gorgeous just like everthing else they do.
I have eaten here many times for breakfast and each time the food is amazing. This a local spot I go to because the service and food is great. Not over priced and nice location. Very relaxing.
While the Cafe at Lewers does a reasonable lunch and not bad coffee, it's the surrounding that will make this a very pleasant stop if you are in the area. An old weatherboard house is home to the Penrith Regional Gallery and the gardens are a real treat to wander amongst.
This cafe has new owners. The service is friendly and staff are pleasant and helpful. The outdoor atmosphere is appealing and you can select to sit on the grassed area or the undercover area. The coffee is good and the home baked style cakes are nice. An added bonus is the ability to wander through the galleries after your coffee. It is free. Parking is sometimes a bit limited so get there early.
Went for lunch. Lovely area & outlook. Lunch simple not pretentious or flash but enjoyable fresh lunch menu. Service very friendly & timelyNo rushing or pressure just able to sit & enjoy the afternoon with great but non intrusive table service. Thank you to the staff
Wonderful Friday lunch here with a mate and was impressed by the secret garden atmosphere. Hidden inside the Art Gallery, it was also great to know it was located on the River Walk! We were seated in the intimate spring garden and the tables were comfortably spaced. The coffee here was tasty and we were very tempted by the next table's jugs of Mojito/G&T! We chose the Ploughman's platter for two that was very well balanced in flavour. Then followed up by Mexican influenced lunch choices that did not disappoint! Ben and the staff were wonderful and was well looked after. Love to come back here again for a longer catchup and for the Brunch Cocktails!
This venue also has a lovely outdoors grassed area for relaxing in the sunshine or shaded areas with their own herbs/vegie patch.Food is bistro style and homemade. You are never rushed to leave and is ideal for your mothers as toddlers and can picnic on the lawn. Just a walk across the road to the Nepean River. Idyllic and one to recommend.
Went here for lunch with friends. I can't remember what they ordered, but there were no complaints. I enjoyed a beer, veg korma and a veg lentil dish which was pretty good, and finished off with hummingbird cake.
If you enjoy eating outside under the trees in a lovely garden this is the place to go. The food is good and service ok. And after eating you have a very interesting gallery to take a look at, and maybe a walk around the gardens. Lovely way to spend a day and great place to take your out of town visitors.
My family had a fantastic meal at this cafe, they have an extensive new menu and special's board but nothing can beat the Haloumi Burger for me. The service is friendly and love the idea of the cocktail list. The setting is picture perfect as you can enjoy being a part of the garden and be up close to the incredible bird life.
The Cafe at Lewers is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to food. The quality of the food is very high, it's well made with good produce. The down side is the menu is lacking a bit of variety or interest. There are often specials which are good, it would just be nice to see more of these interesting options on the main menu. That said picky eaters needn't worry as you can pretty well build your own dish and they will make it happily. Lunch is better than breakfast here in my opinion. The coffee is good and the nice location and easy access to art makes the experience all the better. If you're looking for a nice spot to have some coffee you couldn't find many nicer ones. It's also very child friendly as you can let the little ones run around the beautiful gardens.
Nothing beats sitting in a garden with the perfect coffee.A favourite that we keep going back to. Awesome breakfast menu, with fresh local produce.
The menu is different to most - great choices that do change - a lovely place to have breakfast especially in the warmer months as it is completely outside Though we have been there in colder times they have heaters and rugs for you knees - very quaint Beautiful gardens to enjoy while you savour your meal and much quieter that other places close by After your meal take a wander through the galleries very interesting art which also changes all the time
