Wonderful coastal walk, cafe's and beautiful beach.Every activity is catered for, yoga, walking, swimming.Great food and bars along with a great choice of accommodation.Easy access to Sydney City Centre where transport to anywhere is available. A great place to be based in Sydney.
A different experience, to swim in those natural rocky baths that are filled by the tide. A great spot for young children to se some small fish. Take reef shoes as the bottom is rough and sharp on feet. Googles are great to get an underwater view. No waves to nKnock you over.
The cafe does very goodcoffee, the baths are enclosed but private, it's very quiet, the view is stunning and you can sit and enjoy, the fresh breezes even on a 35C day. You have to pay a small fee to get in. But they will loan you a towel if you wander in without one.
My partner Katherine learnt to swim here when she was a Coogee Girl. Now she loves coming back whenever we are in Sydney, and revisiting the scenes of her youth.Indeed, this place is still a joy to visit. Rarely crowded, it's an oasis of peace, and has good changing rooms and a little shop, and the ocean-washed rock bathing pool is as clean and good as ever. Just a short 5 minute walk south of Coogee Beach, it's highly recommended. Note: there's a small entry fee.
It's under $5 to enter these lovely baths. The views are spectacular. The pool is lovely and clean and you have the benefits of shade and no sand. Take a beach chair if you want extra comfort. Nice little kiosk there for rolls, sandwiches, drinks and icecreams. You can even book a massage there. Highly recommend. Have lived in Coogee all my life and this is a top spot!
We are looking for somewhere off the sand and pounding surf and we found just the place. Wylie's is a huge pool with lots of space for sunning. I loved the views from the pool. Watch out for the sea urchins. They are small but they still hurt.
Wylie's is such a beautiful place to spend a morning/lunch/afternoon just relaxing let alone holding a function etc there. Love this place!
If your after relaxing swin away from crowds worth the fees. Coffee and food okay however cog gee has way better option/s. Lazy day;) you need to get there early if you want a seat.
Way, way back when we lived in less complex times, obtaining one's lunch was a straightforward process. There was just 'bread' - no Ciabatta, Turkish or Sourdough; and a query in relation to quinoa would likley result in a quick search of the Kama Sutra. Fillings were simple, limited and wholesome - pesto was what you used Mortein for - and cheese was just cheese, with the same mild cheddar across the nation. Yet for all the lack of variety, lunch was almost always welcome - fresh, tasty and particulaly delicious after a bracing 20 laps of the ocean pool. For the young and curious who wish to sample the culinary delights of that Arcadian time, head on down to Wylie's, and after your swim grab a corn beef, cheese and pickle roll or a ham, cheese and tomato version. They are always fresh, generously filled, and bring back fond memeories of childhood
We stumbled across the Wylie's Sea Baths after parking the car miles from Coogee Beach & setting out to walk back there. The baths cost less than $5 per adult for entry & we had a fantastic refreshing swim away from the crazy crowds & no sand to deal with after either!
Definitely not just for women and children (as stated in previous review).Great situation just south of Coogee, well maintained whilst preserving an air of 'yesteryear'. Good changing facilities and a great swimming area -probably 30-35M - all with waves from the Pacific breaking over the pool walls.Nice areas to sun yourself - if that is your thingThe cafe is also great value, I would recommend the rolls for an 'after swim snack'
Just a great place and worth every penny. Still preserved a very pleasant, comfy and homy atmosphere. We always enjoy every minute we spend there!
Loved our swim - its only for women and children. Just watch out for the sea urchins - both my son and I got a couple inbedded in our foot and they are really hard to get out. Other than perfect spot.
This is such a nice pool, on the rocks at Coogee. It's private, you can swim safely, not worry about rips and see the ocean. Fabulous spot.
The iconic wylie's what better way to spend a few hours, do a few laps check out the sea life find shade or baske in the sun. To top it off have a mug of coffee and a tuna sandwich. Sure beats the hot sand in summer
